Cam Newton on the September 2016 Cover of GQ Magazine

I have a strong love for fashion which I also feel about football. Pre-season just started and what better way to kick of the football season than to have Cam Newton on the September 2016 cover of GQ magazine. Cam has proven that he has style off the field which he catches some heat for especially his most recent look which you can see via his instagram. On the cover, Cam is rocking a CALVIN KLEIN COLLECTION coat, an UNDER ARMOUR 'Superman' tee, a DAVID YURMAN necklace, a COACH watch and a football from LEATHER HEAD SPORTS. in the issue, he talks those Versace Superbowl pants, losing the Superbowl this year, race in America, his love for people and so much more. Continue below to read some excerpts from Cam's interview and to see his fashion spread. For more on Cam's feature, visit GQ.com and pick up a copy on newsstand.

On wearing hoodies:
For what it’s worth, I really wear hoodies. Like, that’s a fact.

On football:
The optimism of football brings people together closer than any other sport. It’s all about winning. I’m not trying to sound like Charlie Sheen, but it is. We live life, like, America, we’re taught to become, you know, successful, and success comes with winning.

On losing the 2016 Superbowl & not caring about what people says about him:
I had so much emotion. A lot of emotion. We play the game to win. And we didn’t. I could care less. You know, what a person says to me, says about me—if it’s not coming out of Chosen’s mouth.… That’s what the birth of my son does. Like, what do I gain? Now I have purpose in this world. Whether a mean tweet, a mean [person] saying, ‘Hey, you’re supposed to do it like this’—if my son ain’t saying it, then it don’t matter to me.

On loving people:
Because I love people! I love them, man. Pretty much can talk to anybody. And that’s kind of like my gift and curse. Sometimes I talk too much. But needless to say, it’s fun. I’m all about learning. I read The Wall Street Journal constantly. I read, you know, certain magazines, just to try to get hip to certain people’s vibes.
