Katie Holmes is the April 2018 cover star of Women's Health magazine. On the cover which was shot by Ben Watts, Katie is casually rocking a white tank top and denim pants. In the issue, she talks working out, acting & directing at the same time, running a marathon and more. Continue below to read some excerpts from her interview. On her father & brother running the Boston marathon:
I was 13 or 14, and I was like, 'Wow.' That had a huge impact. I thought, My gosh, I want to do that. If they can do it, I'm not gonna let them have that over me.

On running a marathon:
It was incredible, going through all the different boroughs. You feel like you're part of a pack, and you're inspired by other people—and the people in wheelchairs. But it's also. . .I remember hitting mile 20 and just crying, like, 'There's no way—I can't do six more miles.' But I did.

On working out:
I was a five-pound-weight person, and now I can do 15, 20. And I've been doing a lot of boxing, which I had never done before. It's thrilling. You can get out the stress of the day. I just go in there and think of all the mundane things that bother me. Traffic!" she adds, feigning a punch. "I put off all my phone calls till after boxing, because it puts me in a much calmer place.

On reading a book & picture taking:
I feel closer to an author when I'm holding a book. Remember the days when the only time anyone took out a camera was on birthdays, holidays, and family vacations?

On acting & directing at the same time:
Some people say, 'It must be so hard to act and direct at the same time.' But it's not as challenging as it looks, because you're in charge of it. And when you're a mom—we're used to doing 25 things at once.
