Anne Hathaway on the February 2019 Cover of Town & Country

Following her attendance at the Golden Globes, Anne Hathaway was revealed as the February 2019 cover star of Town & Country magazine. On the cover Francesco Carrozzini, Anne is LOUIS VUITTON SPRING 2019 and VHERNIER jewelry. In the issue, she talks her self-imposed Instagram commandments, how she sets her anxiety on fire (literally), and her latest role in the thriller Serenity with Matthew McConaughey. Continue below to read some excerpts from her interview. For more on her feature, visit TownandCountrymag.com and pick up a copy on newsstand.

On getting into character for 'Serenity':
It’s all temporary—like, all of it. I used to not understand that, and it was a lot harder. A part of me just has to be aware that whatever is going on, however hard it is, whatever it’s asking of me, I’m incredibly lucky to be the one who’s being asked.

On women supporting women in the industry:
We were there for each other, and we were supportive. Why have I always been told that the opposite would happen? You just believe that more is possible. You’re a little bit braver and you want to dig a little bit deeper, you know?

On her dedication for social advocacy:
A huge part of doing the work, particularly as a white woman, is listening and hearing and valuing the voices of people whose voices are not allowed to be raised up as much as yours.

On what she does when she gets stressed:
Set a timer on your phone, have a candle nearby, and write it all down. You spew it all out. You do not read it,” she says. “The timer goes off, you tear it out of the book, and you light it on fire.
