Step Into Sexy by Avon Fragrance Launch Party

Last night I attended the launch for AVON'S new fragrance, "Step Into Sexy". Activist and supermodel Christy Turlington is the face of the fragrance and she was on hand at the event. She wore a black STELLA MCCARTNEY FALL 2011 dress and she was gorgeous. I had the opportunity to talk to Christy about the new scent and she said "how she love the fact that is it so clean & light and not over powering". She also joked about how she can see her daughter taking it from her and wearing it. I agree with Christy, the scent is very light and has very fresh scent. Black raspberry, spring freesia flower and violet leaf make up the top notes. Rosewood and orchids make up the mid notes while the base notes contains creamy cashmeran, orris root and amber. In all the fragrance takes you on a oriental floral express and is for the sensual woman. I love it because what woman doesn't want to "step into her sexy"? A 1.7fl oz will sell for $28 and  will be available November 2011 exclusively through a Avon representative or you can purchase it at www.avon.com.

Anna Dello Russo 'Edits' INC for Macy's

Last night I was making my rounds at events so I stopped by OpenHouse Gallery to preview INC's Fall/Holiday 2011 collection which was edited by Italian fashionista Anna Dello Russo. She was not at the event however when the models strutted out on to their platforms, a video that Anna did, played on film on the wall. Celebrity stylist June Ambrose, Solange Knowles, male model Rob Evans and designer & socialite Genevieve Jones was in attendance at the event. Chic dresses, a trench coat, pencil skirts, cropped fur and leather was the look of the collection which came in vibrant hues mixed with black. The models all wore dark over-sized cat frames that I loved. Continue to see the collection and tell me what you think.

Rachel Zoe Comes to Saks Fifth Avenue

Last night I attended a private event at SAKS FIFTH AVE. in the SNAKS CAFE in their NYC store to celebrate the arrival of the RACHEL ZOE collection to the store. The collection is every bit of Rachel's unique and personal style. The celebrity stylist and designer arrived at the event with her husband wearing a printed blue tie neck blouson maxi dress from her Resort collection that she paired with a leather jacket. The collection was full of volume and movement with shoes that are chunky and high like Rachel likes it. I have already seen the collection before it's actual debut in stores but I still was blown away by some of the styles.

Two of my favorite pieces was the black tuxedo jacket dress and the "Peggy" sequin dress in brown and gold that was on display at the event which you will see in the pics below. I personally really like Rachel's collection and I am glad it is based off of her personal style. Continue to see more images from the collection and tell me what you think?

Guess 5th Avenue Preview Store Opening

Last night in New York I had the pleasure of attending the preview opening for the new GUESS flagship store on 5th avenue. Guest sipped on cocktails while browsing the store however I really enjoyed the sweets bar. This is the store's largest flagship location and the place is beautiful. The two level store features artwork and my favorite a denim rug made up of vintage jean patches. The whole structure of the store is simply amazing but the clothing was the best part. My must-have item is the black "Lou Lou" romper that MTV's "The Seven" host Julie Alexandria was wearing. Rompers are a big trend right now. The first floor carries the fashion forward and exclusive pieces made specifically for that location along with accessories. The second floor carries the mens clothing and of course more women's clothing. Trust me ladies you won't be disappointed with the new GUESS collection and they also have an amazing collection for men. Continue to see more photos from the event.

On Tuesday night Diesel held the "Only the Brave" MC challenge that featured up and coming rappers in the business who are making a name for themselves. The event was taped live for MTV 2. The Swatch 'New Gents' Collection launch party

The new Swatch collection available at the Swatch store

Last night Swatch held an private event at the Gansevoort for the launch of their "New Gents" collection. Nikki Reed hosted the event and Chris Brown, Fabolous and supermodel Jessica White were in attendance. Guests sipped on cocktails and ate mini burgers and shrimp as they mingled and viewed the collection. The Swatch watches to me are unisex and I believe that they can be worn day to night. What is also so cute about these watches is the price, they retail for $65. Fashionistas that is a steal. Also the watches are water proof and if you are like me, then that is a good thing. Continue to see more images from the event..

Lebron's love Savannah opens up about their relationship and Miami to Harper's Bazaar

Lebron James girlfriend Savannah Brinson 24, is in a feature story for Harper's Bazaar September 2010 issue and she is holding nothing back about their relationship. In the magazine she said " Personally, Miami was not my favorite place. Vacationing there is great: You go for three days and get some sun, and it’s time to go home". She also said that the weather is what sold her on the move. She also opens up about the way her and Lebron fell in love and whether they are making plans to get married. Something she says she won't ever pressure him into doing which I think is a very good idea. Also she talks about her charity "Girl Listen" and something that she is definitely not worried about, "Groupies".....

Former BET anchor Jacque Reid left, Salt from Salt'n'Pepa right

Last night I went to a Jimmy Choo event where they showcased their fall 2010 collection and I must say, that I am in LOVE! Former BET news anchor Jacque Reid was there along with Salt from the popular rap group Salt'n'Pepa. Shearling boots, studs & chain detailed shoes, thigh high boots, espadrilles and wedges. Now let's talk about the bags, I couldn't stop eyeing them. House of Dereon & Dereon Bedding collection Preview event

Me with Tina Knowles

A while back I told you that Beyonce and her mother Tina Knowles were launching a bedding collection, well last night I went to the preview event and the whole collection was really cute. Guest walked and sipped on cocktails and finger food as they looked at the collection. What I thought was so cute about it, is that each comforter set was named after Beyonce's song. You had Halo, Sweet Dreams, Crazy in Love and Diva which was my favorite set. Beyonce did not attend the event but her Mother Tina Knowles was there and she was very nice. She said "she thought the price point for both collections was reasonable". I think so to, the House of Dereon bed in a bag starts at $149 which is catered to people 25 and above. The Dereon collection starts at $79 and is catered to a younger adult. The collection will hit stores this October and I think it will be a hit. Continue to see some of the collection....

Robert Verdi shops high for less!

Fashion writer Terry Atkins left, celebrity stylist Robert Verdi center

Robert Verdi shops for clients & friend Eva Longoria on a daily basis, keeping them red carpet ready for events. However what he wants everyone to know, is that he does not always spend a lot of money for clothes. He said "TJ Maxx is the place to go to buy high end clothes on a dime". "People think that the high end merchandise found in TJ Maxx or Marshall's is damaged or last season, but that is not always true" says Verdi. Current season pieces can be purchased at discounted prices at TJ Maxx. Missoni, Ted Baker, Catherine Malandrino and Kate Spade are just some of the high end lines that can be found at the Maxx.

Robert Verdi hosted an event to give tips on how to shop on a dime and still look like a million bucks. Guest sipped on cocktails and finger foods as they looked through high end pieces that sell for less at TJ Maxx. Models also walked around in looks put together by Verdi from TJ Maxx. I have never been one to shop through racks to look for deals but after last night, TJ Maxx and Marshall here I come!
