Rachel Roy Fall/Winter 2012

For Fall/Winter 2012, RACHEL ROY focused on architectural and linear shapes. There was a balance of naturalism that was felt throughout the collection which let the true elements of what she was going for shine through. A-line skirts and crisp trousers gave simple but a refined finish in bold tones like berry. Other colors used were pine, eucalyptus, greys, fuchsia and orange. Color blocking was also done along with fur vest and classic  coats which are perfect for the daytime. Rachel has always been about sophistication and she definitely went with a different look this season. Her inspiration came from a documentary that she saw "Women in Dirt" which details female landscape architects.

Rachel Roy Spring / Summer 2012

RACHEL ROY held a presentation for her Spring / Summer 2012 collection at Avery Fischer Hall at Lincoln Center on Monday. So many fashionista's, including myself came out to view the collection. Models stood on platforms as onlookers walked by to view the collection. Kim Kardashian made an appearance at the presentation wearing a taupe dress, a chunky gold necklace with green stones and a chic up-do. The collection which was titled "Romantic Minimalism", was a creation of masculine and feminine pieces. The color palette started out with muted tones then elevated to black and whites along with florals and pops of coral. Wide & thin belts were added to the dresses, which reminded me of  a"Gesha Girl". The tone of the collection took you on a oriental express to China but with a modern twist. Volume was key with refined silhouettes. Continue to see the whole collection.
