Cynthia Erivo is in awards season mode and she is gearing up for her upcoming starring role as Aretha Franklin. Yesterday evening(January 2nd) she made her way to the red carpet for the 31st Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards Gala at the Palm Springs Convention Center in Palm Springs, California.

For the occasion, she chose a navy and gold chainmail panel, hooded halter dress from the SCHIAPARELLI FALL 2019 COUTURE collection. Judging by her pictures, you can tell that she is feeling this look.

However for me, I am not really sold on the fabric and I wish that it wasn't see-through . Also the make-up is heavy. Staying on the minimal route with the styling, she finished up with gold jewelry. Did Cynthia sell you on her look?

Danai Gurira, Emily Blunt & Olivia Wilde at Variety's 2019 Creative Impact Awards

Yesterday(December 5th) Danai Gurira, Emily Blunt and Olivia Wilde attended the 2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival - Variety's Creative Impact Awards/10 Directors To Watch at the Parker Palm Springs in Palm Springs, California.

Danai Gurira wore a SALVATORE FERRAGAMO RESORT 2019 multi-printed, pleated v-neck dress which stopped just below her knees. Danai's exact version wasn't featured in the look book but it was shown in a similar version. While I like the dress on her, I question her shoe choice. Her brown pumps got lost here, I think a lighter shade like tan would have been ideal. 

Emily Blunt was my favorite here wearing this ROKSANDA PRE-FALL 2019 white midi dress, which featured contrasting pink & neon green panels. Her dress was styled perfectly with pink BRIAN ATWOOD sandals which topped off her look. 

Olivia Wilde is keeping the power suit trend alive, wearing a emerald ERDEM RESORT 2019 suit, which featured a double breasted jacket and matching wide-leg trousers. This suit is different from what we are use to seeing from the fashion house but I like it. However the pants could have been hemmed. FOUNDRAE jewelry finished up her look.

Emily Blunt served up some great looks on the Mary Poppins promo tour, and she adds another look to the list courtesy of ROLAND MOURET. Although simple in design, she stood out in the designer's red 'Belhaven' ruffle one-shoulder gown, which was accessorized with FERNANDO JORGE jewelry. 

Yalitza Aparicio from the hit movie 'Roma' looked lovely in this custom ADEAM tuxedo dress in a vibrant red tiger lily hue. A matching lip, straight off-the-shoulder tresses and DAVID YURMAN jewelry finished up her look.

Linda Cardellini might have looked stiffed posing, but her strapless MONIQUE LHUILLER SPRING 2019 white & black butterfly, guipure lace dress was cute. APM MONACO jewelry, and a TYLER ELLIS clutch & sandals finished up her look.

John David Washington of 'BlacKkKlansman' wore a GUCCI tuxedo which was teamed with CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN velvet dress shoes. The stripe, embroidered jacket is the star here but it's too bad about the fit. 

Rami Malek opted for a classic, custom GIVENCHY pinstripe tuxedo. My only quibble is the unfortunate creases at the knees but other than that, he looked great.

Bradley Cooper walked away a winner wearing a GUCCI navy & black panel tuxedo. He seems to be having the same issue as Rami, with creases at the knees. Their pants needed to be tailored better.

This dress was perfect for Regina but I wish she wore ankle strap sandals over those buckle pumps. A braided, off-the-shoulder hairstyle and minimal make-up finished  up her look.
