Taraji P. Henson ditched the red carpet but posed backstage after winning her awards during the 47th NAACP Image Awards.

She stepped out in a BALMAIN RESORT 2016 nude long sleeve crystal embellished wrap dress with padded shoulders and a split detail.

For her beauty look, she kept it simple wirh center part straight tresses and a gold smokey eye which she offset with a light glossy colored lip. While this is not a bad look, it just doesn't excite. KIMBERLY MCDONALD jewelry and STUART WEITZMAN 'Nudist' gold sandals topped off her look. What do you think of Taraji's look?

Serving us with some much needed color on the red carpet, Gugu Mbatha-Raw attended the 47th NAACP Image Awards at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Friday(February 5th) in Pasadena, CA. 

She wore a vibrant NARCISO RODRIGUEZ marigold silk crepe gown halter gown. The low cut-out sides and open-back added a sultry touch to her simplistic look. However the way it lays on her chest looks a bit off. 

An extra touch of color came via her turquoise IRENE NEUWIRTH jewelry. I am still a bit underwhelmed with the overall look but the color helps her to stand out. BRIAN ATWOOD heels topped off her look. What do you think of Gugu's look?

Gabrielle Union attended the 47th NAACP Image Awards on Friday(February 5th) at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, CA.

She hit the red carpet in a RITA VINIERIS 2016 black sheer lace panel v-neck gown with an dramatic tulle train detail. Gabby appears to have had the v-neck shorten from the look book version which I think worked in her favor.

However I wish she added a colored lip to enhance the overall appeal of her look. A high ponytail adorned with a black double headband, JIMMY CHOO heels and NIWAKA jewelry completed her look.

Teyonah Parris in Romona Keveza at the 47th NAACP Image Awards

It's always a joy to see Teyonah Parris on the red carpet because I love how she owns her look. On Friday(February 5th) she attended the 47th NAACP Image Awards at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, CA. 

The actress was beautiful in a ROMONA KEVEZA FALL 2014 long sleeve Onyx gown with black sheer illusion neckline, a metallic gold thread linen bodice, a mirrored gold waistband and a black silk-crepe fluted shape skirt. 

The only thing I would add to her look is a colored lip because I felt she needed a pop here but she still was a natural elegant beauty at the event. PARADE DESIGN & BACCARAT jewelry, an EMM KUO clutch and JIMMY CHOO heels topped off her look.

On Saturday(January 23rd) Laverne Cox, Teyonah Parris & Naturi Naughton attended the 47th NAACP Image Awards Nominees' Luncheon at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Laverne Cox stood out in a ROLAND MOURET one-should peplum sheath crepe dress with an asymmetrical neckline. Love the color & dress on Laverne but I wish the hair was off-the-shoulder and she opted for a simple ankle strap sandal over her STELLA HUES pumps. A pink lip completed her look. 

Teyonah Parris was perhaps my favorite out of the bunch as she looked lovely in a JOHN PAUL ATAKER SPRING 2016 white halter tuxedo jumpsuit with a crossover panel. A natural pinned up-do, a colored lip and the STUART WIETZMAN 'Nudist' sandal topped off her beautiful look. 

Naturi Naughton wore a cobalt blue & black paisley embroidered crop jacket with the matching halter dress. I like the dress but she should have left the jacket out because it feels matronly with it and it just too much going on. Also I think a simple ankle strap or strappy sandal would have been ideal over the peep-toe black & silver embellished pumps.

On Friday(February 5th) Jada Pinkett Smith and hubby Will Smith hit the red carpet at the 47th NAACP Image Awards at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, CA. 

Jada Pinkett Smith wore a dark teal MARCHESA RESORT 2016 strapless tulle feathered gown with a cinched waist and a train detail. I would have loved to see Jada with a complimentary light colored lip or jewelry but nonetheless, she looked beautiful. This voluminous gown could have easily overwhelmed her petite frame but I think she wore it well. Gold jewelry and a sleek center part up-do completed her look. 

Will Smith wore a dark green BERLUTI wool & mohair peak lapel smoking tuxedo with the matching trousers and a cotton evening shirt with a silk bow tie along with black leather formal shoes with a green wash. I am glad he opted for green over the traditional black.

Kerry Washington wore a white & black trim VICTORIA BECKHAM draped dress with an deep embroidered neckline. The drape detail is very unflattering on Kerry which is the downfall of her look. NEIL LANE jewelry, an JIMMY CHOO clutch, GIANVITO ROSSI heels and a complimentary up-do completed her look.

Grace Gealey of the hit TV show 'Empire' wore a sleeveless lavender sheer beaded v-neck tulle dress with a matching lavender belt for a cinched. Her dress which was by ZIAD NAKAD looked great on her. JIMMY CHOO silver sandals topped off her look. 

Viola Davis wore a custom white beaded ST. JOHN'S dress with a short train detail. Beauty wise, she went with a side parted short layered cut and a magenta lip which was offset with a kohl rimmed, smokey eye. EFFY jewelry finished up her look.
