Blanc de Chine men's and women's Spring / Summer 2011

Blanc de Chine, a luxury Chinese brand, held a fashion show at their fifth avenue boutique to show their women's and men's spring / summer 2011 collection. Before the runway presentation guest sipped on champagne and chocolates and browse around the store. Then it was upstairs for the runway show. Shapes and detailing were key for the women's collection. The designers use of black and white was strong throughout the collection but added colorful tones and prints to make the collection pop. Multi-layered chiffon and transparent fabrics also echoed a romantic feel to the women's collection. The royal blue cropped jacket( shown above) with the embellished detailing is a good transitional piece and a big trend. The menswear collection was relaxed and tailored but the focus was more on the cut.
Silk, summer wool and linen were the textures the designers used for the menswear collection that created a unique look. Black and white were the also key tones for the men. Also the designers used 3D Western cutting techniques against 2D Chinese methods to add unique details to the men's collection. You can see the effect of the designers unique techniques in the white vest shown above. However the suits were classic and very clean cut which is fitting for every man.
