Balmain adds Color to the Label with New Head Designer: Olivier Rousteing

Balmain recently parted ways with it's head designer Christophe Decarnin who reportedly exited the label at the top of the year and failed to show for the Paris Fall 2011 runway show. It was officially announced yesterday that he is being re-placed by unknown black designer, Olivier Rousteing who will be the new head designer for the french label's women's and men's wear lines. Olivier worked under Decarnin for the past three years and now he will succeed him. So who is Olivier Rousteing? Well the french born African designer was at Roberto Cavalli for five years and  then he went on to run the Balmain womenswear design studio since he came on to the label in 2009. So the pressure is on for Rousteing to keep Balmain at the top in the fashion industry. The french label developed a strong following of fashionista's that includes Beyonce, Rihanna, Demi Moore, Zoe Saldana, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham, Halle Berry, Kim Kardashian and Gwenyth Paltrow. Olivier's first collection as the head designer will be for Spring 2012 which will hit the runways this September. That is going to be the must-have invite for the season.
