Fabulous Find: Blues by Kyky

Recently I had the opportunity to check out a line of luxurious handbags and accessories from BLUES BY KYKY and it is my fabulous find of the day. I got a chance to meet Venezuela designer Yliana Yepez, one of the co-founders of the line who also remains the designer & creative director and the mastermind behind it's success. The brand has developed a strong following in Venezula and now it is making it's North American debut with the exotic and stylish quality that it is known for. Blues by Kyky was born in 1994 by two Venezuelan socialites, Karen Kupferschmiedt and Yliana Yepez who wanted to create fresh and wearable accessories suitable for their lifestyles and tastes. They started out with belts which garnished them a lot of attention and then went on to create handbags and backpacks. The handbags comes in the finest snakeskin, haircalf, exotic leathers, woven straw and raffia in stylish totes and clutches. Each piece are handmade making it's originality noticeable in bold and vibrant colors. Their first store opened in 1998 in Gran Caracas in Venezuela which lead to three other locations and a jewelry line. Twenty years later, Blues by Kyky is carried in stores across the world in South America, Europe, the Middle East and now the US.

When I spoke to Yliana, she told me that she wanted to create a line of handbags that were functional and wearable for all fashionista's especially when they are on the go. Also she wanted to pay close attention to details and the look. I love this collection and it has styles suitable for all fashionista's with different taste. The handbags are pretty moderately priced from $265 to $695 in which I think is perfect for the level of quality in which it is made in.
