Tracee Ellis Ross in Leah Da Gloria at the 2016 Black Girls Rock Awards

I am usually on board for Tracee Ellis Ross looks because she has great style but I wasn't on this occasion. On hand as the host, Tracee Ellis Ross attended the 2016 Black Girls Rock awards at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center on Friday(April 1st) in Newark, New Jersey.

She hit the red carpet in a LEAH DA GLORIA white fringe embroidered cap sleeve dress which I thought looked great on her. I love the instagram slow-motion video that she posted of her shaking in this dress.

However it's those GUCCI 'Angel' platform shoes that has me confused. I like the overall retro appeal of her look but why the heavy heels with this fringe dressl. Also I think a colored lip wouldn't have hurt. She finished up with EFFY earrings, an OKHTEIN clutch and her signature natural curls. What do you think of Tracee's look?

  1. As much as I hate platforms, if she were going for a retro vibe then those are the perfect match. I am assuming she was into a 70ies mood from the hair style and her mom's queedom ? But then the dress is not 70ies ,well , maybe a bit with all those fringes but it doesn't read full 70ies, it is more kind of late 30ies. And then the golden bag ? All in all a very disconnected look.
