Aishwarya Rai in Rami Kadi Couture at the From The Land of The Moon (Mal De Pierres) 69th Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Following her attendance at a premiere yesterday evening, Aishwarya Rai attended the From The Land of The Moon (Mal De Pierres) premiere during the 69th Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France.

For her red carpet look, she turned to Lebanese-American fashion designer RAMI KADI. Working a look from the designer's Capsule Couture collection, she wore a pink off-the-shoulder floral beaded lace gown with a cape waist detail.

I love this dress and I think she redeemed herself with it. However I can't get past that smokey eye and bold lavender matte lip. It looks like someone painted it on, it is just horrible to me. For the first time, Aishwarya has failed to excite. I hope she turns things back around. What do you think of Aishwarya's look?

  1. Yeah, the make-up is bad and kinda ruins it. I'm still waiting for an Aishwarya look to excite me this year, she can do better to be honest...

    1. I mean, I appreciate that she took a risk and tried to do something unusual with her make-up, but it's just not working for me...

  2. Girlfriend wanted to go edgy with the make up and super conventional with the attire ? Kind of silly idea , for a person like her at least. It didn't work. She looks like a corpse dressed in that Mexican " El dia de los muertos" celebration. Horrendous, absolutely horrendous.

  3. The gown is lovely and slightly more interesting than her previous standard embellished gowns, and I like the on-trend off-the-shoulder neckline. But the lavender lip is an eyesore, plain confusing, it is simply impossible to ignore it and enjoy the look.

  4. She is trying too hard with the makeup. The dress is gorgeous, but the make-up is bringing down the look. She is not at her best this year.

  5. well, this is what she had to say
"It has been 15 years at Cannes and I remember coming here for the first time for ‘Devdas’ and I knew I belonged to showbiz forever. So, playing dress up has become a way of life. I don’t shy away from it. I keep teasing everyone that one day I am just going to walk out in a white shirt and jeans on the red carpet. I always say there are so many opportunities. It works for some and it doesn’t work for some but that’s what all the fun is about. It’s creative and nice to allow all the professionals to express their creativity. I am an actor by career choice. I enjoy fashion like art and I have a life, I have a family. I am not only focusing on all of this so it doesn’t stress me out. I am a professional."
