70th Annual Tony Awards Wrap-up

Last night the 70th Annual Tony Awards took place at The Beacon Theatre in New York. To see all of the looks, click HERE and continue below for the wrap-up.

Patina Miller worked her left leg in a J. MENDEL FALL 2016 red and black pleated cut-out halter dress with a crossover split detail. Patina is wearing a modified dress from the runway version. I actually prefer the design of the top from runway version. A black clutch, JIMMY CHOO sandals and straight tresses completed her look.

Rose Byrne wore a custom THAKOOK black & red rose paillettes silk crepe midi dress with a v-neckline and cold shoulders. An EDIE PARKER clutch, ARA VARTANIAN jewelry, STUART WEITZMAN sandals and a side parted straight bob finished up her look.

Saoirse Ronan wore a simple pale pink STELLA MCCARTNEY floor length dress. I don't think this color work for her. It needed more than just that dark pink lip to liven it up.

Denee Benton wore a yellow PRABAL GURUNG SPRING 2016 deep v-neck cut-out dress which she styled simply with metallic pumps. The color looks great on her but the lack of styling makes this look a snooze.

Laura Benanti wore a OSCAR DE LA RENTA magenta long sleeve floral lace appliqué evening dress which we have seen on Michelle Obama in a shorter length. She was one of the few looks that I liked as well. Her look was sleek and beautiful.

Michelle Williams wore a custom LOUIS VUITTON white pleated center from split dress with contrasting black straps and a split neck. The red lip is what keeps it somewhat interesting but this is still not a wow moment.

Allison Williams wore a custom DKNY tailored jumpsuit which I actually like. However I don't get the clutch and a colored lip wouldn't have hurt.

Heather Headley wore a BADGLEY MISCHKA yellow printed halter gown with a gold beaded waist. FRED LEIGHTON jewelry and a complimentary beauty look topped off her look.

Jenna Ushkowitz wore a black & white J. MENDEL pleated panel dress with a key top and split. For me, I would swap out her CASADEI pumps for a strappy sandal and add a red lip. MONIUQ PEAN jewelry, a JUDITH LEIBER clutch and a complimentary up-do completed her look.

Jane Krakowski wore a red beaded MICHAEL KORS v-neck dress with nude underlining and a short train detail. I wish the neckline wasn't so wide and that she wore her hair in an up-do.

Joan Smalls wore a red, black & silver beaded ALTUZARRA FALL 2016 v-neck dress. I have no complaints here because I liked her look.

Karolina Kurkova wore a COACH FALL 2016 black & gold varsity jacket with a black center front split dress underneath. I actually love this look but I don't think it fits in with the Tony's. MELISSA KAYE jewelry, an ERICKSON BEAMON clutch & brooches and STUART WEITZMAN sandals completed her look.

Overall, Lupita Nyong'o was my favorite at this event, who was yours?

  1. Michelle looks not bad. Her best LV look to date.

  2. In the mid 90ies I owned a white swinsuit ( criminal, I know ) exactly like Michelle's dress. Even the black strips !! That said, this is one of the best dresses by Louis Vuitton that I see in a long time.
My favourite dress of this bunch is the Altuzarra and favourite of the event was Lupita as well.

  3. I agree, Lupita was the best dressed.

I love Allison's suit and actually think hair and make-up work as well, but I don't get the styling...
And yeah, that is better than Michelle's LV looks usually are. I'm not excited, but it's nice enough.
