2017 MET Gala Wrap-up

On May 1st, the Rei Kawakubo Comme des Garcons-Art of the In-Between 2017 MET Costume Institute Gala took place at the Metropolitan Museum Of Art in New York.  To see all of the celeb looks, click HERE and continue below for the wrap-up.

Evan Rachel Wood once again teamed up with ALTUZARRA for a great look which featured a  embroidered chiffon dress in midnight blue over black tuxedo pants. An edgy beauty look and a black clutch & pumps finished up her look.

Thandie Newton took on the theme by wearing a red hue dress courtesy of MONSE. Her one long sleeve Swarovski beaded floor length dress featured a ruched split detail. With her hair accented with flowers, she finished up with JENNIFER FISHER jewelry and STUART WEITZMAN sandals.

Salma Hayek wore a BALENCIAGA black waist high split dress and SPRING 2017 boots. Love the boots which we have seen on several occasions but overall, this is just okay for me. Minimal make-up, a ponytail and a metallic clutch finished up her look.

Dakota Johnson of course wore GUCCI which featured custom black silk moiré gown with a duchesse satin straps and 3D flowers with a full pleated taffeta & duchesse satin ruffle skirt and a black lurex and silk jacquard evening clutch.

Reese Witherspoon wore a custom MUGLER FALL 2017 dress which featured one-shoulder navy puffy sleeve top and a black thigh-high split dress. This is a little different from Reese signature and I thought she looked beautiful.

Zoey Deutch wore a custom TORY BURCH white dress with on trend statement sleeves which is what keeps the dress alive. I love everything about her look except the black mule sandals.

Gwyneth Paltrow wore a simple CALVIN KLEIN COLLECTION pink sequin midi dress with a side split detail. Her look had potential but the styling is a let down. I just don't get the black pumps.

Julianne Moore also wore CALVIN KLEIN COLLECTION FALL 2017 but she looked better.  Her sheer illusion colorful feather dress was teamed with a grey clutch and white sandals.

Michelle Monaghan shined in a custom PACO RABANNE silver metallic floor length dress with a draped cut-out back. A LEE SAVAGE clutch and CARTIER jewelry finished up her great look.

Allison Williams rocked a glam beauty look wearing a custom DIANE VON FURSTENBERG column gown with bias-cut chiffon layers covered in white hand-embroidered paillettes with a black velvet corset.

Rose Byrne wore a RALPH LAUREN red cut-out bodysuit and tulle skirt which she accessorized with DAUPHIN jewelry and a EDIE PARKER clutch. Love her hair & make-up which complimented her look.

Kim Kardashian said she was going to tone it down and she did just that wearing a VIVIENNE WESTWOOD white off-the-shoulder long sleeve dress. She ditched wearing bling as she said she was going to do and while this is still a very tight dress, at least she is not showing a lot of skin. I actually like her make-up & hair though but her dress isn't Met gala wow.

Bella Hadid showed off her small frame wearing a see-through black ALEXANDER WANG long sleeve jumpsuit with a open-back.

Gisele Bundchen shimmered on the carpet wearing a STELLA MCCARTNEY silver long sleeve floor length dress with a cut away back and short train detail.

Leslie Mann wore a CHANEL SPRING 2016 COUTURE dress which surprised me as I don't ever recall her wearing the brand. However she did it justice because she looked beautiful.

Brie Larson wore a gold beaded fringe & feather CHANEL PRE-FALL 2017 v-neck dress styled with a gold shoulder bag & sandals.

Lily-Rose Depp of course wore CHANEL which featured a vibrant fuchsia strapless gown with floral appliqués. This is a cute look for the young starlet.

Emily Ratajkowski wore a shimmery MARC JACOBS SPRING 2017 dress which a different from her usually sexy, skin baring looks. I thought she looked great.

Rila Fukushima was head to toe in LOUIS VUITTON which featured printed ruffle dress and black boots from the FALL 2017 collection.

Haley Bennett wore a DOLCE & GABBANA COUTRUE nude lace & floral embroidered gown with a floral crown. I like that she didn't play it safe.

Selena Gomez took on the lingerie trend courtesy of COACH. Her look featured a custom beaded silk-chiffon floor length dress with a lace panel v-neckline and a center front split. Keeping her look interesting she went with a dramatic fuchsia smokey eye courtesy of MARC JACOBS BEAUTY.

Karlie Kloss wore a CAROLINA HERRERA black long sleeve tuxedo dress with contrasting white panels. I think a bold red lip and some sparkly jewelry could have taken this to the next level.

Ruby Rose wore a BURBERRY white & black v-neck gown with a tier floor length skirt and scalloped edges. I wish the hair was a flatter and a colored lip wouldn't have hurt but she still looked nice.

Jennifer Connelly was head to toe in LOUIS VUITTON which featured a long sleeve black & white mock neck dress and SPRING 2017 black leather boots. I liked her look minus the earrings.

Maggie Gyllenhaal, Francesco Risso(Marni Creative Director) & Sofia Boutella. Maggie wore a chain strap embellished with the matching pants. This MARNI ensemble suits Maggi'es style but I wish the pants were hemmed.

Sofia Boutella wore a MARNI black & green embroidered & embellished floor length layered dress with high side splits. Her look is a bit busy but again, it totally suits here.

Stella McCartney posed with Naomi Watts on Kate Hudson who were wearing STELLA MCCARTNEY.  I actually like Stella's look but the pants are too long for me.

Naomi Watts wore a simple black floor length dress with a sheer illusion v-neckline. For me, this is not Met gala wow, maybe for a premiere.

Kate Hudson thankfully took on the theme via her hairstyle which worked with her white one-shoulder floor length dress with a short train detail.
