Cynthia Erivo in Thom Browne at the 12th CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute

When it comes to her style, Cynthia Erivo tends to try her hand at difficult pieces, which sometimes can be a good thing or a bad thing. Yesterday evening(December 9th) she attended the 12th Annual CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute American Museum of Natural History in New York.

THOM BROWNE has pieces that are very hard to translate from the runway and this piece on Cynthia is one of them. From the front this FALL 2018 structured dress had potential but when I saw the back, that's where she lost me. The back revealed a sheer panel and faux white bra & briefs detail in the back. You can check out the back of her dress HERE.

Also because of her height, a length like this can be difficult to pull off which is why I think the dress should have been shorten. While her MALONE SOULIERS heels are cute, a somewhat of a higher heel with an ankle strap, would have elongated her legs. You may also remember she wore a different, difficult piece from this collection before, which you can see HERE.  Does Cynthia's look work for you?

  1. The dress was unusual, to say the least, especially the back, but as a statement dress I could see it. However the fact that she wore it to present on CNN Heroes to Susan Munsey, who has a nonprofit called GenerateHope that helps survivors of sex-trafficking, just seemed inappropriate to me.
