2019 InStyle Awards Wrap-up

Zendaya, Laura Harrier, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and more attended the 2019 InStyle Awards last night(October 21st) at The Getty Center in LA.

Kiki Layne was on hand as an honoree wearing a custom KATE SPADE NEW YORK strapless gown, which was accessorized with the heritage spade linear earrings in silver, raise the bar pave cuff in rose gold, raise the bar pave ring set, and perry platform pumps in pink sequins. Flawless head to toe.

Olivia Munn utilized the split on her KATE SPADE NEW YORK scatter dot, velvet high neck dress and she carried the Sam box clutch in croc silver. She vamped up her look with a dark red lip. Metallic platform sandals and EF COLLECTION jewelry finished up her look.

Amandla Stenberg wore a GUCCI FALL 2019 sequin mini dress which she accessorized with a mint bag and pink ankle strap pumps. I like Amandla's look but I wish that tie detail on the bust was removed.

Ellen  Pompeo wore a MARTIN GRANT RESORT 2020 satin stripe, one-shoulder jumpsuit, which was belted at the waist. Despite the fit of the top, I like this jumpsuit and she was right on target with the hem.

Lucy Fry wore the ivory ZIMMERMANN RESORT 2020 'Super Eight Butterfly' cutout gown, which she accessorized with metallic SCHUTZ sandals. I feel like her look is missing statement jewelry.

Jennifer Garner went the all black route as usual, wearing a ALEXANDER MCQUEEN suit. It's not a bad look but it's boring.

D'Arcy Carden was one of my favorites in this SIMONA CORSELLINI colorful ombre dress, which was belted at the waist. I love the color combination here and her SAM EDELMAN sandals coordinated nicely with it.

Connie Britton struck a pose in a JONATHAN SIMKHAI FALL 2019 long sleeve, off-the-shoulder floral & paisley handkerchief hem dress.

January Jones wore a black ruffle leather, asymmetrical dress which we saw on Lili Reinhart in white but in a different fabrication. Love the dress but I am missing the belt and overall, I don't think January did it justice.

Jessica Alba wore a CHRISTIAN DIOR FALL 2019 navy strapless, pleated dress which was belted at the waist. This was simple but pretty. I would swap out the black pumps for metallic or colored sandals though.

MJ Rodriguez worked her JEAN PAUL GAULTIER FALL 2015 gown and I thought she gave it more life than the model did.

Hunter Schafer wore a RICK OWENS FALL 2019 ruffle cutout back dress and platform boots. Honestly, she is only one of the few people who can make this collection work, and with the boots.

Nina Dobrev tried her hands at a pajama inspired suit from the CONG TRI SPRING 2020 collection. This is wearing her, more than she is wearing it. Save this for someone like Rihanna.

Kilo Kish stepped into the 80's, wearing this RODARTE FALL 2019 sequin and ruffle panel dress, and boots. This look is not for everyone but she pulls it off.

Janet Mock showed just a hint of midriff in this ROSIE ASSOULIN RESORT 2020 floral crop top and black full skirt. She continues to show her style range.

Kirsten Dunst was on hand to present the sisters & designers of RODARTE who are friends, the 'Designer of the Year' award. She chose a SPRING 2019 colorful pastel, ruffle lace tier dress with contrasting satin shoulder ties. Thankfully she removed the sleeves and the lining worked for her as well.

Adria Ajorna wore a black crystal trim power suit from the MSGM FALL 2019 collection. I actually like the loose shape on her, she gives it sultry appeal.

Christy Turlington wore the same MARC JACOBS FALL 2019 green beaded dress that we already saw on Olivia Wilde in March 2019. I love the edgy, charm the clutch adds to her look.

Kaley Cuoco wore a CHRISTIAN DIOR layered lace dress which she accessorized with a statement clutch and black pumps. I feel like black oxfords or a metallic heel would have been a better shoe choice.

Olivia Culpo came through with her signature pose wearing a CHRISTIAN DIOR suit and carrying a bag from the fashion house as well. This is a far departure from her usually sexy looks. It doesn't excite but it's not bad either.

Amber Valletta chose a black gathered, drop waist leather dress from the LOEWE SPRING 2020 collection. Simple but sexy but I would swap out the black pumps for a colored or metallic sandals.

Jameela Jamil wore a playful PRABAL GURUNG SPRING 2020 strapless feather embellished, silk midi dress was styled with white pumps. The fit on the bust looks a little off but my main issue is the hairstyle. I think it's time for her to switch things up.

Danielle MacDonald wore a custom KATE SPADE NEW YORK silk clip smocked dress with the ‘perry platform heel in silver sequins’ and carried the ‘romy croc-embossed chain wallet in berry blitz

Lana Condor looked great the KATE SPADE NEW YORK pacific petals strapless dress in black’ and carried the ‘twistlock small convertible chain shoulder bag in candied lilac glitter. However the fit on the top looks a little off but I still like her look.

Storm Reid was beautiful in a custom MULBERRRY mint green halter neck feather gown. This young beauty completely owned this look and you can tell that she was feeling herself as she should.

Judith Light was clearly feeling her herself as well in this custom jewel-tone mosaic print stretch crepe column gown by BADGLEY MISCHKA.

Lake Bell wore the SIES MARJAN SPRING 2020 'Farrah' red satin dress with a contrasting ivory underlining. Playing off of the hue of the dress, she wore red satin sandals and a red lip was added to her beauty look.

Dove Comeron wore a ALICE MCCALL printed, ruffle hem mini dress which was accessorized with a green clutch and nude pumps.

Natasha Lyonne wore a peach RODARTE ruffle dress. I love how she always owns her look, however the hair needed to be off-the-shoulders but I wish the dress was in a different, suitable color.

Laura Brown wore the RODARTE FALL 2019 silver metallic plisse-lame top and the matching wide leg pants. I actually prefer the runway's presentation.

Rachel Bilson dipped into the RODARTE archives for this FALL 2015 black and orange velvet, beaded & printed panel, asymmetrical dress. I like the dress but Rachel doesn't give it life.
