'Queen and Slim' 2019 AFI Fest LA Premiere

Last night(November 14th) in Hollywood, CA the 2019 AFI FEST premiere of 'Queen & Slim' took place at the TCL Chinese Theatre.

Jodie Turner-Smith who is one of the leading stars of the film, struck a pose in a GUCCI layered lavender dress which she accessorized with a black choker and sandals. She is definitely the next style star to watch.

Daniel Kaluuya kept it simple in a light grey suit which he teamed with a white tee shirt and sneakers. Gold necklaces rounded out his look.

Lena Waithe went the sporty route, and her RICHFRESH orange & navy hue pieces looked great on her. White sneakers topped off her look.

Rihanna stepped out in a JOHN GALLIANO SPRING 1995 black satin, kimono evening dress which is from WILLIAM VINTAGE. While this has a bathrobe vibe to it, she pulled it off with ease. Leave it to Rihanna to slay a piece like this.

Melina Matsoukas is in her own style lane and her red carpet looks continue to prove that. This DAISY YU FALL 2019 green & pink draped leather ensemble is not for everyone but it's up her style alley. However I don't get why she wore black pumps because nude would have been a better choice.

Tracee Ellis Ross posted her look to instagram which featured a JW ANDERSON SPRING 2020 grey over-sized suit. I like the idea of this suit because it speaks to Tracee style but the pants needed  to hemmed. Also the shape of the jacket is too tough for anyone to work.

Zendaya rocked the IMANE AYISSI textured caftan dress with the GOYA PARIS X IMANE AYISSI assorted boots. The loose shape is not the easiet to pull off but Zendaya effortlessly nailed it.

Natalie Portman wore a CHRISTIAN DIOR SPRING 2020 see-through grey & black mini dress which was shown in a longer version on the runway. Natalie's version is easily preferred.

Janelle Monae came through and just slayed the red carpet as she always does in her signature black & white hue. Her MARA HOFFMAN SPRING 2020 ensemble was accessorized with HIROTAKA & DENA KEMP rings, TULESTE earrings and JIMMY CHOO sandals.
