74th Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony & ''Annette'' Premiere

Jodie Foster, Spike Lee, Marion Cotillard and more attended the 74th Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony today(July 6th) in Cannes, France and the premiere of ''Annette.''

Jessica Chastian just attended the couture collection show by CHRISTIAN DIOR so it is no surprise that she chose a gown from the fashion house. She looked beautiful in a FALL 2019 COUTURE black strapless gown which was dressed up with a CHOPARD necklace.

Maggie Gyllenhaal who is on hand as a jury member, wore a CELINE FALL 2021 shimmery pleated cape gown. Maggie's gown was shown in a shorter, black version on the runway but her custom version was a better choice. However I dislike the color and the fit on the bust.

Bella Hadid who also attended the LV dinner, looked gorgeous wearing a JEAN PAUL GAULTIER SPRING 2002 COUTURE two-tone halter gown. The black sheer tulle, crisscross top flows into a train in the back, taking her piece to the next level. However I would have loved to see her with a red lip.

Melanie Thierry wore a CHRISTIAN DIOR FALL 2020 COUTURE silk pleated, v-neck dress with crisscross rope straps on the bodice. For me, this is a lovely grecian dress but the color is very boring and I am not feeling the head styling either.

Elisa Sednaoui
looked pretty wearing a ALBERTA FERRETTI LIMITED EDITION COUTURE green strapless, embellished column.

Helen Mirren is a person that loves to wear color and I like the color of her DOLCE & GABBANA dress.  But it was that stunning necklace that shines here. She always wears the right jewelry pieces but it doesn't necessarily flow with the dress. Also I am not that crazy about the matching pumps.

Carla Bruni came through sparking in a CELINE beaded, one-shoulder gown which was accessorized with CHOPARD jewelry. I wish the hair was sleeker but her gown was simply elegant.

Melanie Laurent
wore a GIORGIO ARMANI PRIVE SPRING 2021 shimmery mint vest and pleated skirt. I can't say that I am loving this and the vest looks a bit snug on her.

Candice Swanepoel
wore a custom ETRO nude paisley embellished jumpsuit with dramatic wide fringe sleeves. The color washes her out and the sleeves are giving me Elvis vibes but she looks good.

Kat Graham worked the split on custom piece which is also by ETRO. Her green strapless, silk-chiffon gown was down in an abstract print with an embellished bustier.

Ester Esposito also stepped out in a custom piece by ETRO. However her look was more on the sexy side, showing more skin but it was the purple hue that stood out. It's not a Cannes look though.

MJ Rodriguez wore a custom ETRO gown which was adorned with a hooded caplet and a draped, cutout back. I really wish that this was lined but I am not feeling it at all.

Lou Doillon
wore a GUCCI FALL 2021 black silk and gold pleated lame gown with feather sleeves and she carried a glittery heart clutch. I feel like this had potential but the head styling doesn't compliment it.

Angele
looked lovely wearing a CHANEL SPRING 2021 COUTURE black & gold beaded dress with a two-tier skirt.

Soko
looked gorgeous wearing this custom pailiettes beaded, cutout dress from the GUCCI FALL 2021 collection. While I like the runway's color way, Soko's custom version looks so much better for the occasion and on her. However I want to take an inch off the hem.
