2023 National Board of Review Awards

Yesterday evening(January 8th) in New York, the 2023 National Board of Review awards gala took place at Cipriani 42nd Street.

Janelle Monae is always going to give us a moment and she did just that wearing a VALENTINO RESORT 2023 gown. It appears that she had the bodice lined which worked in her favor. Although I wish that a red lip was added, she looked stunning from head to toe. 

Michelle Yeoh tends to do very well outside of Elie Saab and I loved her in the EDREM PRE-FALL 2023. My only quibble is that I wish the tired peplum detail had the same volume as it did in the look book. 

Danielle Deadwyler has beeb on a consistent roll and she looked beyond flawless in this custom PRADA pink off-the-shoulder dress. The fabric may not be the ideal look but the color looked fantastic on her. Truthfully, it's hard to not like this. 

Ariana Debose suited up in GIORGIO ARMANI and the crystal embellished panel on her blazer is what kept her suit interesting. 

Chinonye Chukwu looked beautiful wearing a OSCAR DE LA RENTA RESORT 2023 light blue one-shoulder embellished caftan. 

Kerry Condon also chose a dress by PRADA but her piece came from the label's SPRING 2023 collection. For the second time in a row, the length is the issue with her look.  

Jessie Buckley rocked a cool, edgy ensemble from the SCHIAPARELLI SPRING 2023 collection. She looked great. 

Sienna Miller ditched wearing Gucci for a see-through ruffled slip dress from the ALESSANDRA RICH SPRING 2023 collection. This is just okay for me. A very standard look, something that she does. 

Jenny Slate wore a RASARIO RESORT 2023 bow embellished & floral jacquard, crepe maxi dress. I like the idea of this but I am not sold on the bodice.
