2023 CFDA Fashion Awards

Yesterday evening(November 6th) the 2023 CFDA Fashion Awards was held at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.

Serena Williams who was honored with the ''Fashion Icon'' award, wore a custom THOM BROWNE black sequin gown with a dramatic puffy, cape-train in the back. I am sold on the idea but there are fit issues. 

Lala wore a custom SAINT SINTRA brown strapless romper with a matching long stole. Once again, there is fit issues. It looks like her boobs are suffocating. 

Karla Kloss also wore THOM BROWNE. Her look comes from the designer RESORT 2024 collection. I feel like she needed a colored lip or a statement jewelry piece to enhance her look. 

Mary J. Blige wore a sheer black and sequin embellished CHRISTIAN SIRIANO FALL 2020 floor length dress with a romper underneath for coverage. Have we seen this before? Yes, but she doesn't look bad. 

Coco Rocha served up drama from her pose to her look. She served up some leg wearing a custom CHRISTIAN SIRIANO SPRING 2024 ensemble. I thought she looked great and then I saw the shoes. I don't get how they were an option with her look. 

Madelyn Cline looked beautiful wearing a OSCAR DE LA RENTA SPRING 2024 strapless, sequin and embellished dress. 

Nina Debrev sparkled beautifully in a OSCAR DE LA RENTA SPRING 2024 gold sequin, strapless dress. I kinda wish the hem hit the floor. 

Ariana DeBose wore a JASON WU COLLECTION SPRING 2024 nude and black lace, slip dress. I like this dress, I just wish that it was all black. 

Demi Moore came through sparkling in a dress from the CAROLINA HERRERA SPRING 2024. This was a great choice but there are fit issues on the bust. 

Naomi Watts also wore a dress from the CAROLINA HERREA SPRING 2024 collection. The fabric looks much better on Nina than the model. Also, I feel like she needed a statement ring or a necklace.

Vanessa Hudgens utilized the split on her custom VERA WANG black strapless gown. Again, I feel like jewelry was needed. A necklace or a statement ring. 

Kim Kardashian wore a CHROME HEARTS black halter dress and it's nothing different from what we usually see her in. 

Winnie Harlow rocked head to toe MARC JACOBS SPRING 2023 and she nailed it. 

Shay Mitchell looked pretty in a HERVE LEGER SPRING 2024 red one-shoulder dress with a sheer opera glove on one side. 

Kim Petras dipped into the CHRISTIAN LACROIX archives for this SPRING 2007 COUTURE creation and she looked gorgeous. 

Molly Ringwald wore a ZAC POSEN red one long sleeve dress. She needed a ring and a shorter hem. 

Ashley Graham wore a custom DIANE VON FURSTENBERG sheer layered dress. It's a great look but she needed an up-do. 

Hari Nef showed some skin wearing a J.W. ANDERSON SPRING 2024 cutout, draped dress. The cutout stomach and the draping at the hem ruins this for me. Also, ankle strap sandals would have been a better shoe choice.

Rosario Dawson wore a MARA HOFFMAN white strapless, rose bodice dress. The problem here is that the accessories don't wore together. 

Emily Ratajkowski wore a TORY BURCH SPRING 2024 mini dress and this was a great choice for her. It suits her. 

Chloe Sevigny could not be missed wearing this CHRISTOPHER JOHN ROGERS RESORT 2024 yellow draped dress. I'm not sold on the design but I like the red and yellow combination. 

Anne Hathaway was a standout as well wearing this RALPH LAUREN SPRING 2024 two-piece denim ensemble. On this occasion, I wish the top was shorter which would have worked even better with this long skirt. Nonetheless, it was still a great moment for her.
