2024 Gold Gala

On Saturday(May 11th) Gold House hosted the annual 2024 Inaugural Gold Gala which was held at The Music Center in LA.

Cynthia Erivo posed in a BALMAIN FALL 2024 dress and the skirt looks like kitchen curtains. Love her but the model can't even sell it. 

Karreuche wore a custom look by THAI NGUYEN and it was similar to what Kelly Marie Tran wore to a premiere in 2021 by the same designer. She looked gorgeous, but my only quibble is that I wish the cape was the same fabric as the dress. 

Ji-young Yoo wore a custom hooded dress by PHILOSOPHY DI LORENZO SERAFINI. This would have been great on her if it was a floor length version in richer color.

Karen Fukuhara wore a UNDERCOVER SPRING 2024 ensemble and it doesn't even look good on the model, so I am wondering why it was picked for her? 

Lucy Liu wore a BIBHU MOHAPATRA FALL 2024 strapless, two-tone dress. I feel like better styling could have improved this. She definitely needed a necklace and a simple pump over those strappy sandals would have been a better shoe choice with the length of this dress.

Michelle Yeoh wore a SCHIAPARELLI SPRING 2024 skirt and carried accessories from the brand as well. I am on the fence about the black peep-toe pumps, because while they work, I would liked to see her wearing a gold pump instead. Also, the bag is too distracting with this suit. 

Saweetie wore the green embellished RETROFETE 'Marsann' ruched, floor length dress. It's eye-catching indeed, but the ruching doesn't give her a flattering finish. 

Padma Lakshmi wore a chartreuse CINQ-A-SEPT SPRING 2024 sequin two-piece ensemble. I like how it was made to look like a dress on Padma because I don't think the runway's design would have worked in her favor. The necklace was a great addition and the brown ankle strap sandals complimented the bold hue. 

Poorna Jagannathan wore a ADEAM SPRING 2024 cutout, one-shoulder pleated, silk-chiffon dress, which was accessorized with SETHI COUTURE jewelry, a HUNTING SEASON clutch and ALEVI heels. I don't really care for the cutout detail and she really needed a dark red lip color here to balance out her look. However, this dress would have looked so much better on her if it was in navy or burgundy. 

Xochitl Gomez wore a green strapless, ruffle high-low hem gown by OSCAR DE LA RENTA. She looked great from the ankles up, because those green satin heels were a terrible choice. 

Sherry Cola wore a SAU LAEE white puffy, short sleeve mini dress with HIROTAKA earrings, JULIEN RIAD SAHYOUN rings and SERGIO ROSSI pumps. There are some fit issues and I would have loved to see this with gold accessories, but it's not a bad look.
