2024 Governors Awards

On Sunday(November 17th) the 15th Governors Awards was held in the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood in LA.

Tilda Swinton could not be missed in a vibrant red STANDING GROUND SPRING 2025 dress. The head styling finished off her look with an edgy appeal. I just wish that she wore an open-toe heel, but that doesn't hurt the outcome of her look. 

Danielle Deadwyler looked gorgeous wearing a GIORGIO ARMANI PRIVE SPRING 2024 COUTURE color-block strapless, embellished gown. 

Lupita Nyong'o wore a CHANEL SPRING 2023 COUTURE cocktail dress and could she be the one that really delivers for the fashion house? She definitely pulled this off. 

Margaret Qualley wore a bridal gown from the CHANEL SPRING 2022 COUTURE collection. It's not that she looked bad, it's that the styling is sad and boring. 

Lily Rose Depp tends to do well in CHANEL, but I am not feeling this FALL 2018 COUTURE color-block gown on her. 

Demi Moore wore a GIVENCHY black strapless cape, mini dress. I'm not 100% sold on the shape and I don't think that she needed the necklace and the earrings together. Also, an embellished mule pump would have been a better shoe choice. 

Jennifer Lopez wore a ZUHAIR MURAD FALL 2024 COUTURE silver embellished halter dress with a contrasting black cape back. On this occasion, she needed the gloves. A TYLER ELLIS clutch finished up her look. 

Kate Winslet wore a ERDEM FALL 2024 black flower embellished suit. The jacket made the look, but the pants needed to be hemmed. 

Jennifer Hudson wore a SAIID KOBEISY black crystal embellished dress and she looked great. However, the head styling didn't compliment it. 

Kerry Washington looked beautiful wearing a ELIE SAAB SPRING 2024 COUTURE dress with a coordinating scarf. There is a little too much fabric at the hem, but she looked great in this dress.

Anna Kendrick wore a Monique Lhuillier SPRING 2025 black sequin, floral v-neck dress and she really needed some jewelry. 

Maika Monroe wore a STELLA MCCARTNEY FALL 2024 mixed media halter dress. This could have worked if the nude underlining on the top was better. 

Elle Fanning wore a VALENTINO SPRING 2025 mint fur embellished cape and dress. Love the necklace and I want to see this without the cape. Also, an up-do was needed. 

Drew Starkey wore a VALENTINO SPRING 2025 suit and the red jacket is what made his look standout. 

Natasha Lyonne also wore VALENTINO, but her dress is from the RESORT 2025 collection. I think that I would prefer this dress on her in a different color. 

Colman Domingo wore a DOLCE & GABBANA FALL 2024 tuxedo, but I want to rip that extra satin piece off his jacket that's sticking out. 

Barry Keoghan turned to DOLCE & GABBANA, wearing a FALL 2024 tuxedo. Barry is a fashion risk taker and although I am not a fan of this, it suits him. 

Angelina Jolie wore a no label bridal vintage dress from THE KIT VINTAGE. I'm not loving this dress on her at all. 

Julianne Moore wore a black cape sleeve dress from the PROENZA SCHOULER SPRING 2025 collection. An off-the-shoulder hairstyle would have been so much better. 

Jurnee Smollett served up some color as well, wearing a red strapless tier bubble gown by LOUIS VUITTON. Love the color and the design is not bad. She just needed a necklace with an off-the-shoulder hairstyle. 

Saoire Ronan looked pretty wearing a mint strapless column dress by LOUIS VUITTON. The fringe neckline added playful movement. 

Felicity Jones looked lovely wearing a custom ALESSANDRA RICH white one-shoulder dress. I actually prefer the top half of the dress more.  

Jennifer Lawrence showed off her growing baby bump in a brown BOTTEGA VENETA PRE-FALL 2025 dress with gold hardware. The clutch which is also from the fashion house compliments the hardware. 

Kat Graham wore a CHENEY CHAN yellow strapless gown. A necklace and a better shoe choice would have made this work. 

Mikey Madison wore a red off-the-shoulder dress by PRADA. Love the color, but there some fit issues here. 

Michelle Rodriguez wore a VALDRIN SAHITI latex dress and she looks so uncomfortable. Also, it needed better styling. 

Pamela Anderson is continuing with her no make-up streak, wearing a GIORGIO ARMANI dress. The dress is so unflattering and the styling is all wrong. 

Monica Barbaro also wore CELINE. She needed a necklace and an ankle strap heel to make this work. 

Nicole Kidman wore a black CELINE cold-shoulder, key-hole dress with an embellished neckline. The hair is so tragic that it makes it hard to appreciate her look. 

Paul Mescal wore a GUCCI suit for the second time in a row. I think the shirt is what's wrong with his look. 

Malcolm Washington kept it simple in an all black GUCCI suit. A brooch could have elevated this. 

Selena Gomez wore a RALPH LAUREN black sequin dress with a contrasting white collar & cuffs. I actually like this. I wish the collard neckline wasn't so high though.

Zoe Saldana wore a SAINT LAURENT mini dress with the matching scarf. Love the color but I wish that it was longer. 

Karla Sofia Gascon also wore SAINT LAURENT and she utilized the split on her two-tone, one-shoulder dress.

Andrew Garfield wore a THOM SWEENEY suit, but I am not loving the shirt, and I feel like he needed a pocket square or jewelry piece. 

John David Washington wore a ERMENEGILDO ZEGNA suit and I am not sold on the scarf lapel either. Maybe a brooch could have helped.

Storm Reid showed off her decolletage in a MARMAR HALIM RESORT 2025 off-the-shoulder dress and she looked pretty. 

Amy Adams wore a BRUNELLO CUCINELLI FALL 2024 black oversized button down shirt with a sequin maxi skirt. I fell like she needed a belt, straight off-the-shoulder tresses and statement earrings to bring this ensemble to life. 

Rebel Wilson wore the RHEA COSTA 'Angelina' green satin midi dress and I am definitely missing the gold belt. It elevated the appeal of this dress.

Connie Nielsen wore a MICHAEL KORS FALL 2024 black skirt suit with a flowing train in the back. I wish there was no train in the back and the skirt was longer. 

Kristen Wiig wore a RODARTE floral column dress and I am not loving the fit on the bust. Also, she could use some jewelry. 

Maria Bakalova served up a little drama wearing BIBHU MOHAPATRA RESORT 2025 black strapless gown. I think she should have added a necklace.
