On Sunday(November 16th) the 16th Governors Awards was held at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood in LA. To see all the celeb looks, click HERE and continue below for the wrap-up.
Cynthia Erivo wore a GIVENCHY SPRING 2026 floral feather and fringe coat dress which was belted at the waist. There is no denying that there is a lot going on here, and it's not a bad look for her. However, it feels more suited for someone on the taller side.
Anya Taylor-Joy wore a MAISON MARGIELA FALL 2025 COUTURE white sleeveless gown which she dressed up with a diamond necklace. For a touch of color, a pink lip was added to her beauty look. Although, I am not sold on this white hue on her, she does look gorgeous.
Jennifer Lopez served up drama as she always does for a big red carpet event. She wore a TAMARA RALPH FALL 2025 COUTURE two-tone gown with a waist skirt train in the back. This was the perfect look for her but it's really too tight on the bust.
Alexander Skarsgard looked great as well wearing SAINT LAURENT classic black double-breasted tuxedo.
Mason Thames opted for a single-breasted black suit by SAINT LAURENT which was adorned with a diamond pin on the lapel. Simple, but it works.
Queen Latifah wore a LANVIN red silk kaftan dress with a black beaded flower on the top. I wish that beaded flower was a little higher on the shoulder. Also, the earrings are to focus pulling.
Jurneee Smollett wore a ALBERTA FERRETTI silk embellished slip dress. I like the idea of this dress, but there are some fit issues with the top part.
Zoey Deutch served up some drama wearing a black and white skirted gown by THOM BROWNE and she looked pretty.
Celine Song looked great wearing a long skirt suit by THOM BROWNE.
Gwyneth Paltrow wore a DRIES VAN NOTEN SPRING 2026 black embellished dress with pockets which she utilized. This is just meh for me.
Hailee Steinfeld worked a dramatic 3-D gown from the STEPHANE ROLLAND SPRING 2025 COUTURE collection. We don't usually see Hailey this covered up, but it's not a bad look.
Lili Reinhart wore a ROBERTO CAVALLI FALL 2025 velvet flower dress with a slit detail. I'm not crazy about the color, but she doesn't look bad.
Elle Fanning looked pretty in a GUCCI pink strapless, sequin gown with CARTIER jewelry.
Mari Yamamoto wore a dark red CONG TRI one-shoulder dress with a cut-out detail on the waist. She looked pretty, but I'm not loving the cutout detail.
Emily Mortimer wore a HUISHAN ZHANG FALL 2025 white embroidered shirt dress with a black tie. For me, it doesn't work on the model, so I am not loving it for her.
Isabela Merced wore a DILARA FINDIKOGLU sheer black, hooded dress. I wish this swept the floor and I would have ditch the hood.
Lana Condor wore red off-the-shoulder TABJA pleated dress. The embellished strap across the chest is so unnecessary.
Octavia Spencer wore a printed dress by ST. JOHN. Although, this is not her beast, it's not bad. However, I dislike the print and the top looks a little tight.
Rose Bryne made a shiny entrance wearing a silver sequin CALVIN KLEIN dress. The shape of the skirt is what's throwing me off.
Kaitlyn Dever dipped into the GIORGIO ARMANI PRIVE archives for this crystal embellished slip dress. It's okay, I think jewelry wouldn't have hurt.
Sydney Sweeney wore a MIU MIU crystal embellished dress with a short train in the back. I don't think the scarf was needed.
Jonathan Bailey wore a PRADA suit and it wasn't the most exciting look, but it works.
