55th NAACP Image Awards

On Saturday(March 16th) the 55th Annual NAACP Image Awards was held at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in LA.

Halle Bailey wore a NICOLE + FELICIA COUTURE green strapless, rosette gown. She looked pretty but this needed some jewelry. 

Kerry Washington also wore a shade of green courtesy of VIVIENNE WESTWOOD. She accessorized her draped gown with BULGARI jewelry and D'ACCORI heels. I'm not 100% sold on this shade of green but she does look pretty.

Naturi Naughton in Christian Siriano at the '88' 2022 Tribeca Film Festival

Along with Amanda Seyfried, Natui Naughton hit the red carpet for the premiere of '88' during the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday(June 12th) in New York. 

For the occasion, she chose a cocktail dress from the CHRISTIAN SIRIANO FALL 2021 collection which was accessorized with GENEVIVE jewelry and CULT OF COQUETTE sustainable pumps. Love the dress but unfortunately it doesn't fit properly on her bust. 

She looked great but it's hard to see pass that poorly fitted top. Also I like the addition of the sheer opera gloves but I wish that she wore the bracelet and ring over it, not under it. What do you think of Naturi's look?

Rihanna`s 5th Diamond Ball Wrap-up

Cardi B, Rihanna and more attended Rihanna`s 5th Annual Diamond Ball tonight(September 12th) at Cipriani Wall Street in New York.

Pharrell Williams stepped out in one of his signature looks, a black shorts suit, styled with a black bow tie, white socks and black loafers. This is most likely CHANEL.

Helen Lasichanh, Pharrell's wife, also wore a look courtesy of CHANEL. I think she should have kept the belt but she still looked great. However you may remember that Lara Stone wore it first in June 2019.

'Power' Final Season NY Premiere

Following their appearances at the celebration and GMA, La La and more attended the 'Power' final season premiere event at Madison Square Garden last night(August 20th) in New York.

La La served up some cleavage action wearing a ALEXANDRE VAUTHIER long sleeve silver sequin dress with a short v-neck and a back split. This is a signature Vauthier dress which we see a lot of  but without the ruching. It is a nice piece but it looks like her breast is going to pop out. 

Naturi Naughton also wore a ALEXANDRE VAUTHIER dress. Her strapless black velvet and silver buckle mini dress was accessorized with an green JUDITH LEIBER clutch and black JIMMY CHOO sandals. The dress is cute but it's too small and unflattering on her.

Naomi Campbell skipped the red carpet but thankfully her look was captured. She was my favorite, looking flawless in this CALVIN KLEIN 205W39NYC orange pleated crepe dress. When it comes to her hair, we almost always see her with straight tresses which is why I was blown away with joy to see her with these curls.  

Storm Reid was a beauty in the printed strapless MONIQUE LHUILLIER mini dress which flowed into a train the back. There is nothing that I would add or change here. 

Ava DuVernay who presented at the show, looked lovely in a MICHAEL KORS COLLECTION black long sleeve sequin feather dress which was topped off with a flawless beauty look.

Nautri Naughton in BCBGMaxAzria at the Keep a Child Alive 13th Black Ball

Nautri Naughton attended the Keep a Child Alive 13th Annual Black Ball last night(October 19th) at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York.

She hit the black carpet in a cobalt blue BCBGMAXAZRIA floor length dress with a cut-out v-neck bodice, a peplum detail and a thigh-high split. I like the color which looks great on her and the dress in general but I do have a few issues.

I don't get the pairing of those black pumps with this dress. A statement strappy style would have enhanced her look but the bodice is too tight and the dress looks a little to tight on her. However I do like her hair and make-up. What do you think of Naturi's look?

Naturi Naughton in Nina Ricci at the 2016 BET Awards

Naturi Naughton is gearing up for the new season of 'Power' and this evening she attended the 2016 BET Awards at the Microsoft Theater in LA.  

She hit the white carpet in a black NINA RICCI SPRING 2015 ruffled & lace embroidered halter dress with a tier asymmetrical hem and a peplum detail. Beauty wise, she complimented her dress with a twisted top knot with straight bangs and a smokey eye offset with a nude lip. 

The low peplum waistline doesn't look flattering on her and I wish it was removed to reduce the ruffle intake. Gold accessories and LORIBLU sandals finished up her look. Does Naturi's look work for you?

2016 Black Girls Rock Awards Wrap-up

Teyonah Parris was a golden girl wearing a JANI KHOSLA long sleeve studded dress with a v-neckline and a back split. Her look was topped off with beautiful natural hairstyle by Kangue Styles, a red lip, DRUKKER earrings and shimmer STUART WETIZMAN 'Nudist' sandals. 

Kelly Rowland wore served up some cleavage in a BRANDON MAXWELL white long sleeve ankle length crepe jumpsuit with an banded waist and a seam detail. I like the jumpsuit but this doesn't work for me. First, it's just too much cleavage which takes away from her look and the pants and the seamed detail on the pants looks weird but that maybe because of how she is standing. LOUBOUTIN nude pumps, silver jewelry and puffy ponytail completed her look. 

Danai Gurira also wore a white jumpsuit. Her CUSHNIE ET PRE-FALL 2016 halter one-piece featured matching tie waist was styled with a blush pink clutch, gold sandals and a gold bracelet. Instead of adding a colored lip, Danai opted for a shiny lip which was offset with a smokey eye.

47th NAACP Image Awards Wrap-up

Kerry Washington wore a white & black trim VICTORIA BECKHAM draped dress with an deep embroidered neckline. The drape detail is very unflattering on Kerry which is the downfall of her look. NEIL LANE jewelry, an JIMMY CHOO clutch, GIANVITO ROSSI heels and a complimentary up-do completed her look.

Grace Gealey of the hit TV show 'Empire' wore a sleeveless lavender sheer beaded v-neck tulle dress with a matching lavender belt for a cinched. Her dress which was by ZIAD NAKAD looked great on her. JIMMY CHOO silver sandals topped off her look. 

Viola Davis wore a custom white beaded ST. JOHN'S dress with a short train detail. Beauty wise, she went with a side parted short layered cut and a magenta lip which was offset with a kohl rimmed, smokey eye. EFFY jewelry finished up her look.

Laverne Cox, Teyonah Parris & Naturi Naughton at the 47th NAACP Image Awards Nominees' Luncheon

On Saturday(January 23rd) Laverne Cox, Teyonah Parris & Naturi Naughton attended the 47th NAACP Image Awards Nominees' Luncheon at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Laverne Cox stood out in a ROLAND MOURET one-should peplum sheath crepe dress with an asymmetrical neckline. Love the color & dress on Laverne but I wish the hair was off-the-shoulder and she opted for a simple ankle strap sandal over her STELLA HUES pumps. A pink lip completed her look. 

Teyonah Parris was perhaps my favorite out of the bunch as she looked lovely in a JOHN PAUL ATAKER SPRING 2016 white halter tuxedo jumpsuit with a crossover panel. A natural pinned up-do, a colored lip and the STUART WIETZMAN 'Nudist' sandal topped off her beautiful look. 

Naturi Naughton wore a cobalt blue & black paisley embroidered crop jacket with the matching halter dress. I like the dress but she should have left the jacket out because it feels matronly with it and it just too much going on. Also I think a simple ankle strap or strappy sandal would have been ideal over the peep-toe black & silver embellished pumps.
