70th Primetime Emmy Awards Wrap-up

Tiffany Haddish wanted to pay homage to her father's hometown so PRABAL GURUNG created this vibrant color-block chiffon gown for her based off of his SPRING 2019 collection. Love this gown and the playful hues suits her style. 

Issa Rae wore a custom VERA WANG light blue embellished jumpsuit which featured a skirted waist. Love everything about this but I wish she had the pants hemmed. 

Yara Shahidi stepped out in a salmon colored GUCCI sequin beaded halter dress which was adorned with a matching flower. This is a little on the sexy side which is something different for Yara and I like it.

Donald Glover who was a nominee for his hit TV series 'Atlanta', wore a black & white stripe GUCCI suit which he paired with a white button down shirt, a black bow tie, black shiny shoes and TIFFANY & CO jewelry to top things off. 

Deon Cole of the hit TV shows 'Black-ish' & 'Grown-ish' was indeed my favorite in the printed GUCCI suit. Deon is never one to hold back when it comes to his style which is one of the reasons that I like him.

Thandie Newton in Brandon Maxwell at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards

Thandie Newton has a style that you certainly can appreciate because she almost always delivers. She made her way to the carpet on Monday(September 17th) for the 70th Primetime Emmy awards at the Microsoft Theater in LA. 

Working her look hot of the NYFW runways, she wore a BRANDON MAXWELL SPRING 2019 pink one-shoulder floor length dress featuring a side split and a neck tie detail that flowed into a long floor length train.  

The dress maybe a tad long on Thandie but I still find this to be a simply stunning look. The necktie train adds a touch of sass to her look which was topped off with a flawless beauty look, HARRY WINSTON jewelry and GIANVITO ROSSI sandals.

Tracee Ellis Ross in Valentino Couture at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards

The thing that always draws me into Tracee Ellis Ross style, is that she likes to have fun with fashion and she likes to step outside of the box. The nominated actress was on hand for the 70th Primetime Emmy awards at the Microsoft Theater on Monday(September 17th) in LA. 

Serving up some drama, she wore a VALENTINO FALL 2018 COUTURE strapless fuchsia voluminous gown which she accessorized with REPOSSI. The reason why I love this on Tracee is because it suits her style. 

It's a bold, playful, dramatic piece, something that she does well. However she kinds lost me with the makeup. It's just a little too much, especially since her gown is the focal point here. What do you think of Tracee's look?

With the success of 'Black Panther' Letitia Wright's career continues to thrive. She was a nominee on Monday(September 17th) at the 70th Primetime Emmy awards at the Microsoft Theater in LA. 

While for the most part, we have seen Letitia in Louis Vuitton, Coach & Chanel, she switched things up and opted for a dress from the PAMELLA ROLAND RESORT 2019 collection. Letitia's sheer nude beaded, tier tulle dress was shown in a longer version in the look book. 

While she could have pulled off the longer version, I do like the shorter version as well. However I kinda wish she added a colored lip for balance. Love her braids as always which topped off her look along with matching accessories.

Zazie Beetz was on hand as a nominee on Monday(September 17th) for the 70th Primetime Emmy awards on Monday(September 17th) at the Microsoft Theater in LA.

While I think it maybe too warm for this, I did like her RALPH LAUREN FALL 2018 burgundy velvet, embellished gown, featuring a high neckline and cold-shoulders. 

Although my main issue here is that the gown is too long on her, given the way that she is holding it. However, despite that, again she was beautiful. A JIMMY CHOO clutch and a natural curly up-do finished up her look.

Nominee Leslie Jones attended the 70th Primetime Emmy awards on Monday(September 17th) at the Microsoft Theater in LA.

While some designer's are hesitant to lend or do custom pieces for Leslie, the fashion marriage between her & CHRISTIAN SIRIANO is a great one. She was definitely a standout in Christian's RESORT 2019 pink iridescent suit. 

The color looks great on her and I like the futuristic vibe of her suit. JORDAN ALEXANDER jewelry, a JUDITH LEIBER clutch and smokey eyes rounded out her look.

Joey King made somewhat of an dramatic entrance on the carpet for the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards at the Microsoft Theater on Monday(September 17th) in LA.

If Joey wanted to gave us a memorable look, she did just that wearing a ZAC POSEN RESORT 2019 bordeaux tulle gown. Her layered gown which featured an asymmetrical neckline, may gave you deja vu but it is certainly her best look for the young actress. 

Joey dressed up her look with NEIL LANE earrings, which topped off her look along with a half-up half-down hairstyle with tendrils. What do you think of Joey's ball gown moment?

Chrissy Teigen joined husband John Legend along with Keri Russell on the carpet at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards at the Microsoft Theater on Monday(September 17th) in LA. Chrissy & Keri both wore ZUHAIR MURAD COUTURE. 

Chrissy Teigen wore a FALL 2018 COUTURE long sleeve silver beaded dress, featuring a mock neckline, a sheer illusion panel bodice and a crossover, split detail skirt. Love me some Chrissy but the fit is not great on her, especially waist up. 

John Legend who walked away a winner, wore a navy & black lapel GUCCI tuxedo which he teamed with a white button down shirt, a black bow tie and black shiny shoes. 

Keri Russell worked the split on her sexy SPRING 2018 black dress which featured a long sleeve beaded & feather peplum top and a chiffon skirt. Instead of wearing a metallic or black sandal which she should have, Keri opted for nude.

While we may have to wait to catch Emilia Clarke on the 'Game of Thrones', the actress attended the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday(September 17th) at the Microsoft Theater in LA.

Just like Dakota Fanning, she wore a CHRISTIAN DIOR FALL 2018 COUTURE dress. Her romantic black lace & floral embroidered tank dress, featured a drop waist pleated skirt. On the runway, the dress was shown with a belt which I kinda miss because it works on the runway.

However it's the drop waist effect that is throwing me off because it's not working on her. Loving the FERNANDO JORGE jewelry which topped off her look. Are you missing the belt?

Rachel Brosnahan and Sarah Paulson wore OSCAR DE LA RENTA SPRING 2019 at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards in Monday(September 17th) at the Microsoft Theater in LA.

Rachel Brosnahan who walked away a winner, was perhaps one of my top favorites in this red ombre, pleated chiffon gown with an off-the-shoulder detail and a thigh-high split. Factor in the matching lip and the TIFFANY & CO earrings, this was a stunning look head to toe. 

Sarah Paulson opted for a black strapless, feather tulle embroidered gown which she accessorized with TIFFANY & CO jewelry, a TYLER ELLIS clutch and NEIL J RODGERS sandals. The vampy lip adds a touch of edge to her playful feathered look. While the fit on the bust looks a little off Sarah is selling this look to me.

Nominees Jessica Biel and Sandra Oh wore RALPH & RUSSO FALL 2018 COUTURE this evening(September 17th) at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards at the Microsoft Theater in LA.

Jessica Biel was an elegant beauty wearing a white strapless organza layered gown which she accessorized with HARRY WINSTON jewelry. It can be hard to find a strapless gown to sit perfectly on the bust but this wasn't the case with Jessica. IMO, she nailed this effortlessly head to toe. A pink lip and center part waves finished up her look. 

Sandra Oh wore a velvet and jewel embellished floor gazing, v-neck dress. On the runway, this is not that bad but it's not that great either and it comes off the same on Sandra. Those creases are just too distracting to appreciate this dress which is unfortunate. NEIL LANE jewelry and center part curls finished up look.

On hand for her nominated show 'Blackish', Marsai Martin attended the 70th Primetime Emmy awards this evening(September 17th) at the Microsoft Theater in LA.

The young starlet turned to VIKTOR & ROLF, wearing the designers RESORT 2019 rainbow ruffle tulle v-neck, cocktail dress which was adorned with dainty bows on the waist. For me, I love the idea of this dress because it suits her style. 

However I don't know if it's the fabric or the creases but something is off with that bodice. Also I would swap out those pumps for a simple silver metallic, ankle strap sandal. Nonetheless, she looks so cute in general and I love her ponytail which topped off her look along with a small clutch and ALEXIS BITTAR earrings.

Poppy Delevingne has made that crossover from modeling to acting which is why she was on the carpet for the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards this evening(September 17th) at the Microsoft Theater in LA.

I am really happy that this GIAMABTATTISTA VALLI FALL 2018 COUTURE mint silk gown made it to the carpet, because it was one of my favorite pieces from the collection. While the color gives this gown a standout appeal, the cascading ruffles in the back enhances it.

Even though it looks a little tight on her, I am still drawn into this look. A up-do which was adorned with a black ribbon and statement earrings finished up her look.

For the occasion, she wore a GEORGES CHAKRA FALL 2017 COUTURE black velvet mermaid gown, featuring a sheer panel bodice. On the runway, Yvonne's gown was layered with a sheer embroidered cape which I kinda miss and think she could have pulled off. 

However she still delivered a winning look without it. A flawless beauty look and sparkly jewelry finished up her elegant look.

It's been a while since I have seen Michelle Dockery on the carpet but she returned for the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards at the Microsoft Theater in LA.

This is why I miss Michelle as she looked divine wearing a CAROLINA HERRERA RESORT 2019 strapless sky blue layered tulle gown featuring ruched tulle, floral embellished bodice. 

I think without that detailed bodice, Michelle's gown wouldn't have had much of an impact. The color contrast of the beaded florals gives it life. Straight tresses with bangs and HARRY WINSTON jewelry finished up her look.
