RALPH LAUREN held his runway show on yesterday September 15th, the last day of NYFW. Olivia Wilde and of course his daughter Dylan Lauren sat front row. Lauren revisited the 1920's with this collection merging together masculine and feminine pieces but with a modern twist. The collection definitely delivered looks for all occasion, in which is true to Ralph's style. Flapper dresses appeared to be more tailored, with bias cut dresses and silk dresses & pants that mirrored pajamas but still very wearable. The jazz feel that I got from this collection took me on a fashion flashback of when Diana Ross played Billy Holiday in "Lady Sings the Blues". Then there were the suits, three-piece pinstriped suits with neck ties were paired with trousers and shorts. The accessories in the collection stood out also like the raffia wedges, fringed bags, scarves and the cloche hats. I loved the beaded beanie that model Jourdan Dunn was wearing. Pastel was the color palette and the make-up was light, fresh and clean. Overall Ralph Lauren delivered a well structured and refined collection reminiscent of the twenties. Continue to see more from the collection.
