Wildlife by Heidi Klum Jewelry

Heidi Klum launched her WILDLIFE BY HEIDI KLUM jewelry back in September exclusively through QVC . This is the supermodel's second attempt with a jewelry line, with the first being launched in 2006. However it was discontinued because of a lawsuit by Van Cleef & Arpels in 2009. Klum came back with a collection of jewelry fitting for the trendy and fashionable fashionista. The thirty-five piece collection features statement necklaces, rings, cuffs and earrings in distinct metal finishes. With prices starting at $40-$200, this is an affordable line for all my fashionista's to make statements with their fall accessories. The collection has done very well and will be picked up next season by QVC. To see the entire collection and to purchase a piece click here.

Dockers Spring / Summer 2012 Press Preview and Cocktail Party

Last night I attended the press preview and cocktail party for the DOCKERS SPRING/SUMMER 2012 men's and women's collection. Models stood on platforms as guest walked around viewing the collection while sipping on cocktails and small bites. Quest Love stepped in to DJ at the event. The collection of course featured the brands signature khakis along with bomber jackets and button down shirts. Pants and shorts were cuffed and tops were relaxed.

The women's look were very masculine but still girly. Some of the men's looks were even layered with shorts but there was a chunky sweater featured in the collection that I think was a bit to warm for spring. Overall though the collection was true to the brand's style, classic and cool.

Shop Small: The Small Business Saturday Press Conference

This morning I had the opportunity to attend a press conference at the ROTHMAN'S menswear store in NYC. Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Kenneth I. Chenault, CEO and Chairman of American Express; Christine C. Quinn, Speaker of the New York City Council; Robert Walsh, Commissioner of New York City Small Business Services and Kenneth Giddon, President of Rothman's and grandson of Rothman's founder Harry Rothman was on hand to speak at the conference. The press conference was held to talk about the "SECOND ANNUAL SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY" shopping event that is going to be held on November 26, 2011, the day after black friday. The initiative is to get consumers to shop locally and at their neighborhood boutiques. Small Business Saturday was created in 2010 by small business owner's to bring light to their products and services. This is a national campaign like "Fashion's Night Out, Black Friday and Cyber Monday" but consumers will be supporting the boutiques in their communities. This is my first time hearing about this event and I must say that it really got my attention. A lot of people tend to forget about the boutiques in the communities which I think is a bad thing. These local boutiques offer a lot of exclusive pieces and personalized services.

Also American Express is playing a big part in the event and their card members helped to drive sales last year when they shopped with an 28% increase. American Express is also giving it's card members a $25 credit when they register they card and shop on SBS. In addition, A.E. created tools through social networking to help promote and generate sales for the event. 1.5 million consumers showed their support for small businesses by "Liking" the Small Business Saturday page on facebook at www.facebook.com/ShopSmall.

Andrea Lieberman is Launching A.L.C. Jewelry

Andrea Lieberman developed a strong following with her A.L.C. Clothing line which made it's debut three and a half years ago. The collection features chic and functional separates for the all around fashionista. Now fashionista's will have more to love from the designer with the launch of her new A.L.C. jewelry collection that debuts this month. Her jewelry collection will debut at select BARNEY'S locations and on SHOPBOP.COM with prices starting at $95-$895. The jewelry collection is definitely uniquely designed and raw with details like screws & fasteners. The traditional brass and silver metals create a classic industrial feel which is polished and clean. The use of the bondage elements looks dangerous but is softened to bring out the unusual yet effortless style of each piece.

My favorite pieces in the collection are the screw stud earrings(shown above), which are simple but can add a little edge to your look. Another favorite of mine is the silver screw necklace(shown above) which is a cool and edgy statement piece. The rings also standout in the collection with details like screws and nails. Overall, the collection features a wide variety of statement pieces with an elegant edge.

Step Into Sexy by Avon Fragrance Launch Party

Last night I attended the launch for AVON'S new fragrance, "Step Into Sexy". Activist and supermodel Christy Turlington is the face of the fragrance and she was on hand at the event. She wore a black STELLA MCCARTNEY FALL 2011 dress and she was gorgeous. I had the opportunity to talk to Christy about the new scent and she said "how she love the fact that is it so clean & light and not over powering". She also joked about how she can see her daughter taking it from her and wearing it. I agree with Christy, the scent is very light and has very fresh scent. Black raspberry, spring freesia flower and violet leaf make up the top notes. Rosewood and orchids make up the mid notes while the base notes contains creamy cashmeran, orris root and amber. In all the fragrance takes you on a oriental floral express and is for the sensual woman. I love it because what woman doesn't want to "step into her sexy"? A 1.7fl oz will sell for $28 and  will be available November 2011 exclusively through a Avon representative or you can purchase it at www.avon.com.

White by Vera Wang Bridal Press Preview

Recently I had the opportunity to attend the press preview for the WHITE by VERA WANG SPRING 2012 bridal collection. The line features bridal gowns, bridesmaids dresses, accessories and shoes which is exclusively sold at DAVID'S BRIDAL. For Spring 2012 there are nine styles in total that range from $500-$1500 and are uniquely designed to cater to a bride's needs for her special day. The simplicity of the detailing in the collection is what makes it stand out. Soft hues of white, ivory and blush complete the color palette. Strapless gowns in taffeta and garza along with clean detailing like the mermaid finish, A-line silhouettes and asymmetrical  necklines and bodices. The sash really adds an intricate detail to the gowns which creates a timeless look. The collection in all is elegant and classic but with a modern look. Vera is definitely the go to person if you want to look like the most beautiful bride in the world and with this collection, you can afford to do so. To find out more about the collection go to www.whitebyverawang.com.

It gives me great pride to be able to bring my designs to more women through White by Vera Wang. The collaboration with David's Bridal is the perfect marriage of our abilities, both from a business and creative perspective. - Vera Wang

UniQlo Flagship Store Opening on 5th Ave.

Last night I was able to attend the opening for the UNIQLO Flagship Store on 5th avenue. As we walked in, we were greeted by associates and I must say, the structure of the store is amazing. Guest sipped on wine, Saki and light bites as we browsed this huge store. Guest were also treated to an hot performance from Sharon Jones and Susan Sarandon was also in attendance for the celebration. The store is absolutely gorgeous and it sits on 89,000 square foot of space. The store has three levels and each level is brightly lit with tons of space and merchandise available for fashionista's to shop. The store opens to the public today October 14th and the denim will be specially priced at $9.99 until October 30th to celebrate the grand opening. Uniqlo will also be opening in Herald Square along with stores in Chicago and LA. Uniqlo is looking to open 200 stores across the US and compete with their rivals, H&M and Zara. I am a big fan of all three chains and I think they cater to different consumers so I believe they will survive. Continue below to see more images of the store.

Jason Wu Up Next to Design for Target

The fashion world has been buzzing after news broke that JASON WU  will be the next designer to collaborate with retail giant TARGET. Jason received notable recognition when First Lady Michelle Obama wore one of his gowns to the inaugural ball after the presidential election. TargetStyle teased everyone on twitter last night by dropping clues as to who the next designer was going to be so it got everyone talking this morning. No word yet when the Jason Wu for Target collection will hit stores but I am guessing it will be at the top of the new year in February. What are you thoughts on this collaboration?

Kanye West Debuts His New Womenswear Collection in Paris

Kanye West much talked about womenswear collection made it's debut yesterday during Paris Fashion Week and the reviews are mixed. In front row sat some of the biggest designers like the The Olsens, Azzedine Alaia, Dean & Dan Caten from DSquared, Jeremy Scott and Oliver Theyskens. Some loved it and some well, thought he should stick to music. As for me, being that this is his first collection, I am willing to give him another shot. For Spring 2012 I think the pieces are just to heavy, I mean jackets had fur and crocodile leathers. Of course the pieces can be broken down but it didn't have that feeling of spring to it. I couldn't imagine wearing some of these pieces on a warm day in NYC or anywhere else. However he did have some pieces that I would love to see Rihanna in like the peach sleeveless dress with zipper detailing. There were some other pieces that were my favorite like the black long sleeve dress with a plunging neckline and the nude cut-out top and skirt. My ultimate favorite piece out the collection was undoubtedly the GIVENCHY shoes. There is no question that when it comes to making great music Kanye is the man but can he conquer fashion? He has already done a sneaker collection for Louis Vuitton, so only time will tell. Continue to see more from the collection and tell me what you think. To see the entire DW by KANYE WEST collection go to www.style.com.
