H & M announced that their next spring designer collaboration will be with MARNI. The collection will feature pieces for both women & men and will debut on March 8, 2012 in over 250 stores world wide and online. Accessories will also be included in the clothing line, so you will be able to snag a piece of Marni at H & M prices. Marni is know for their innovative prints and distinct silhouettes. Consuelo Castiglioni, the founder and creative director for Marni, developed a collection that will stay true to the brand's style. Below check out the behind the scenes video as Consuelo and others discuss the inspiration for the collection. For women colors are strong, pieces are layered and prints make a statement. Styles include pleated skirts, cropped pants, jacquard knits and fabrics like poplin and silk. Jewelry, shoes, handbags and scarves will complete the women's collection. The print combinations are strong, some go together and some don't but the end results is that it works.
For the men, colors & fabrics were softened a bit to give a relaxed & smooth finish. The prints are added as details to the shirts, silhouettes are clean and classic. I cannot wait to see the entire finished collection. I love Marni because of their playful prints and unique silhouettes. Marni is the latest brand to join the H&M collaboration line along with Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Roberto Cavalli, Comme des Garçons, Jimmy Choo, Lanvin and most recently Versace. Continue to see more behind the scenes images and tell me what you think.
