Cheri Stories, In "The Drawing Room"

The pixie has been a huge trend and so many celebs have taken the scissors to their hairs to get the look. Coco Rocha, Beyonce( for a quick minute), Ginnifer Goodwin, Anne Hathaway, Michelle Williams, Charlize Theron and more sport versions of a pixie. I have been a fan of Ginnifer Goodwin's pixie for a while so when I was invited down to 'THE DRAWING ROOM' salon for a complimentary style, I jumped for the opportunity to update my look.

The salon's home is in the Soho area of NYC and Clyde Elezi the owner, is a renowned hairdresser with a loyal following that spans across the world from the US and Europe. Elezi is committed to giving every customer that steps in his salon a combination of upscale service within a relaxed environment. My experience at the salon was worth the trip. Before I got my hair cut, the stylist talked to me about my hair and before it was cut, she walked me through the process of how it was going to be done and look. She really made me feel comfortable before she chopped off my hair.

The Drawing Room has stylist that specialize in all & different areas of hair, which means they also work with all hair types. Elezi has an exclusive collaboration with famed hair care company TIGI. So if you want the very best, rest a sure you will get it at this salon. The Drawing Room is a great place for someone who is looking for advanced hair styling & coloring techniques in a luxurious but relaxed atmosphere.

This is definitely a salon that I will continue to visit for any and all of my hair needs. I had the opportunity to chat with Adrienne the Academy Director about the pixie trend and how to get the look. Continue below to read what she had to say and to check out more images from the salon and to see my pixie. For more info about the salon, go to www.thedrawingroomny.com.

How do you create the perfect pixie & How do you maintain it?
The perfect pixie cut, as with all cuts, should be a collaboration of both what the client wants and what the professional stylist recommends. Your stylist should be able to give feedback on particular looks and what would suit you for the best pixie cut. Maintenance of a pixie cut usually ranges between 5-7 weeks. After that, the finer details that really set the shape apart from the rest, start to grow out.

Do you think anyone can pull off a pixie?
There can be many variations of a pixie cut. Depending on the persons face shape and specific facial features, a pixie cut can be done by almost anyone.
Which celeb do you think has the best pixie?
Even though Michelle Williams' hair is starting to grow out a bit, her pixie cuts have always been fantastic. Ginnifer Goodwin, as well, has always sported a great short pixie.

How long do you think this pixie trend will last?
With each reemergence of the pixie cut there are new, fun and very modern approaches to the looks. That being said, many more women are trying out the pixie cut. I think we'll be seeing this trend for awhile and most likely a bigger part of women's style from here on out.

The transformation. The image in the bottom right corner is me with the owner Clyde Elezi right after I cut my hair!
