22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards Wrap-up

Last night the 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards took place at the Shrine Auditorium in LA. To see all of the red carpet looks, click HERE and continue below for the wrap-up.

Viola Davis walked away a winner & she looked lovely in a strapless ZAC POSEN gown. My only disappointment was the annoying creases but I thought everything else worked including her make-up.

Alicia Vikander also waked away a winner, shimmering in a long sleeve LOUIS VUITTON sequin patchwork dress. I think I like this look more than her Globes look. It isn't a wow moment but she looked simply beautiful.

Priyanka Chopra wore a MONIQUE LHUILLER strapless pink & white floral embroidered tulle dress. The actress complimented her look with a fuchsia lip and a side swept up-do.

Helen Mirren worked her frame in a JENNY PACKHAM RESORT 2016 three-quarter sleeve silver beaded gown. Instead of going with a bold colored lip, Helen opted for a muted pink color.

Queen Latifah also won an award wearing a semi-sheer black beaded MICHAEL COSTELLO long sleeve gown. I am not always crazy about his dresses but the Queen was beautiful.

Christina Hendricks turned to one of her favorite designers, CHRISTIAN SIRIANO. Her custom  champagne jacquard one-shoulder gown with a draped shoulder panel and a dramatic train detail in the back has a vintage vibe. I am having mixed feelings about this dress because I wish the draped shoulder panel wasn't there and that she went for a sleek up-do.

Uzo Aduba won in her category for the second time wearing a sleeveless emerald ZAC POSEN FALL 2015 sequin dress. Love the color on UZO but the dress itself is not flattering on her. Also the hair should have been on the sleeker side.

Julianna Margulies wore a ANTONIO BERARDI SPRING 2016 white halter embellished dress. Her dress was featured on the runway in a black shorter version but this white suits her.

Naomi Watts wore a cobalt blue & black floral embroidered BURBERRY dress with an contrasting black waistband which provided a nice cinched waist. Instead of going with a pulled back up-do, Naomi opted for a center part light wavy bob. A fuchsia lip & clutch completed her look.

Julianne Moore wore a GIVECNHY SPRING 2016 COUTURE green beaded halter dress with a cut-out sides. I wish she went for a off-the-shoulder hairstyle which would have been ideal.

Joanne Froggatt wore a burgundy long sleeve embellished BURBERRY chiffon v-neck dress with a crossover split detail. I like the idea of the beading on the waist but I wished that it stopped there. Also while I do like her side swept braid, it doesn't work here for me. GUISEPPE ZANOTTI sandals and a black clutch completed her look.

Kate Winslet set out to prove that she can wear the same style dress in tons of color, she did that. She looked great in this emerald padded cap sleeve ARMANI split neck dress but we have seen her in similar styled on numerous occasions. I hope she switches things up for the Oscars.NEIL LANE jewelry and a up-do completed her look.

Nicole Kidman wore a custom GUCCI pink, lavender and rose metallic sequined gown with trompe l’oeil details. The dress looks a tad long and the hair definitely should have been off-the-shoulder or in an up-do. However I don't like this for Nicole. I think this suits someone like Dakota Johnson.

Emilia Clarke was another actress who stood out wearing a pink CHRISTIAN DIOR v-neck which she accessorized with emerald stone jewelry.

Kristen Wiig ditched the idea of wearing a gown for a Bespoke ROLAND MOURET one-shoulder jumpsuit styled with silver accessories. Cute jumpsuit but I don't favor it for the occasion.

Claire Danes wore a two-tone blue STELLA MCCARTNEY v-neck dress with a train detail. Her dress was nice but the overall look is underwhelming. TIFFANY & CO jewelry completed her look.

Ellie Kemper wore a strapless black, cobalt blue, silver & olive graphic printed embroidered PETER PILOTTO dress accessorized with a black clutch.

Ariel Winter wore a black strapless ROMONA KEVEZA FALL 2015 layered lace & satin gown. Ariel's look comes off a bit too dark and I wish she added a colored lip.

Katherine Hahn wore a black pleated ARMANI v-neck gown which she styled with a black clutch. I could never get on board with Katherine's look.

Sofia Vergara also stood out wearing a vibrant pink strapless VERA WANG side split dress. I like the color but the style is so predictable for Sophia. However the real offense here are the CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA platform pumps that she is wearing. It wasn't that visible on the carpet thankfully and while they are cute, they shouldn't have been paired with this dress.

Marisa Tomei wore a dark teal long sleeve beaded ZUHAIR MURAD FALL 2015 COUTURE belted v-neck dress. Side swept waves and a small clutch completed her great look.

Amanda Peet kept it simple in a white NARCISO RODRIGUEZ dress with a hi lo center front split hem and a cut-out back. GIANVITO ROSSI sandals, a gold clutch and a sleek up-do completed her look.

Anna Chlumsky wore a black strapless CHRISTIAN SIRIANO PRE-FALL 2016 high split silk dress styled with a red clutch and black sandals. I am glad that she is wearing sandals but a more sexier, strappy pair could have elevated her look. However the hair is on the matronly side.

Kaley Cuoco wore a one-shoulder ROMONA KEVEZA sheer illusion panel high split dress accessorized with LORRAINE SCHWARTZ jewelry and JIMMY CHOO heels. The dress style feels a bit familiar and I am not too crazy about the hairstyle.

Gwendoline Christie wore a light blue silk pleated LANVIN SPRING 2016 dress which was featured on the runway in a shorter version. For me, the quality & look doesn't read Lanvin to me.

Laura Prepon wore a white CARMEN MARC VALVO SPRING 2016 gown accessorized with FOREVERMARK & STEPHEN WEBSTER jewelry, OLGANA PARIS heels and a HUNTING SEASON clutch.

Tina Fey rarely wears color on the carpet so I was delighted to see her in this red PRABAL GURUNG SPRING 2016 chiffon halter dress.

  1. Shame about those creases b/c otherwise this is such a perfect look for Viola, figure-flattering and impeccably styled.

And personally, I absolutely adored(!!) Nicole Kidman. We've just seen this type of Gucci dress on Dakota Johnson, but I thought this delicate dress looked incredibly beautiful on Nicole with her milky complexion, delicate frame and enviable hair, unique and pretty. She was easily one of my faves.

  2. I love Alicia's dress. It reminds me a Gustave Klint's painting. Nicole looks really good, the dress really flatters her, the dress is gorgeous and the tromp'oil details made it unique.
Sofia Vergara bores me, always doing the same. A bit of creativity would't hurt.
