73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards Wrap-up

Last night the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards took place at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. To see all of the red carpet looks, click HERE and continue below for the wrap-up.

Amber Heard wore a pink tulle layered GUCCI gown with an floral embellished neckline. While this gown is something to what we have seen from the brand before, Amber looks beautiful. A faux light wavy bob and a red lip topped off her glam look.

Queen Latifah turned to her go to brand BADGLEY MISCHKA for her look. Her aqua dress featured an embellished yoke. I like her LORRAINE SCHWARTZ drop earrings but I wish she opted for something smaller so that it didn't compete with her dress. Nonetheless, love the color and she was beautiful. A side parted straight bob and glossy lips completed her look.

Olivia Wilde also wore one of her go to brands, MICHAEL KORS. I love the rich, sleek look of her burgundy sequin halter dress which was accessorized with a statement necklace and a beaded clutch. A matching smokey eye and center part off-the-shoulder soft waves completed her look.

Julianne Moore shimmered on the carpet wearing a cobalt blue TOM FORD sequin long sleeve dress with a black split and velvet panels on the neckline & shoulder. I think her dress would have worked better without the velvet panels.

Amy Adams wore a vibrant red VERSACE beaded panel dress which she topped off with light make-up and center part waves. Simple & beautiful but not exciting.

Taylor Schiling switched things up by wearing a custom black long sleeve THAKOON draped jumpsuit. I like the idea of her not wearing a dress/gown but she definitely wore the wrong shoes with this which are courtesy of GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI. While the jumpsuit is cute, it just didn't make an impact. An ANYA HINDMARCH clutch completed her look.

Emmy Rossum was on hand to support her fiancé who walked away a winner for my favorite show 'Mr. Robot'. I was hoping that she would wear Carolina Herrera but instead she opted for a red strapless ARMANI PRIVE gown team with a statement diamond necklace and a ROGER VIVIER clutch. A matching red lip and side parted layered tresses completed her look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal wore a MARC JACOBS wore a yellow & black beaded floral lace embroidered v-neck dress. Maggie's definitely has a retro look about it which suits her. However I wish she left the gold jewelry out and opted for a straight behind-the-ear hairstyle.

Carly Chaikin attended for the first time wearing a JUAN CARLOS OBANDO sequin peplum halter dress styled with a black clutch.  Toning down her look with light, neutral make-up, she finished up with a sleek center part ponytail and drop earrings.

Kate Hudson show off her toned abs wearing a custom MICHAEL KORS beaded pink dress with a attached choker detail, a strapless top and cut-out waist. If this was the Grammy's, I would have loved this.

Eva Green wore a ELIE SAAB FALL 2015 COUTURE sheer gold beaded & lace belted gown. The red lip added a nice pop of color to her look but it doesn't excite for me. Maybe because we have seen similar looks like this a lot on the carpet and also the hair should have been sleeker.

Melissa Benoist wore a strapless MONIQUE LHUILLIER PRE-FALL 2016 floral embroidered crossover dress which she team with the STUART WIETZMAN 'Nudist' sandals and a pink satin clutch.

Lady Gaga walked away a winner for her role on AHS. For the occasion she wore a ATELIER VERSACE black off-the-shoulder velvet gown with a train detail. Her hair & lack there of make-up makes her look aging but a colored lip & a different hairstyle is needed.

Sarah Hay wore a MARCHESA SPRING 2016 light blue tulle embroidered gown. Two things I wish she did here, leave out the heavy clutch and opted for a sleek up-do. A complimentary colored lip wouldn't have hurt either.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who is reportedly engaged, wore a gold beaded ATELIER VERSACE dress with crisscross straps in the back and a sheer pleated skirt. This look feels a bit too one note to me, a pop of color is definitely needed.

Jane Fonda wore a white SAINT LAURENT white long sleeve dress with a dramatic ruffle detail bodice. I love how Jane always takes fashion risk but I don't like her shoe choice here.

Angela Bassett wore a vibrant red SAFIYAA ONE-SHOULDER center front split dress. Angela was off her style game on this occasion. The hair nor the sandals are complimentary to her look.

Malin Akerman wore a strapless lavender REEM ACRA PRE-FALL 2016 lace embroidered dress which I do like. However I find it a tad to long on Malin.

Natalie Dormer wore a J. MENDEL red pleated silk chiffon off-the-shoulder halter dress with a contrasting black beaded strap and a key hole detail. I like the dress but the hairstyle doesn't work for me.

Sohia Bush kept it simple in a black NARCISO RODRIGUEZ dress which she accessorized with a box clutch and MARTIN KATZ jewelry. A red lip and a slick side parted up-do completed her look.

Rachel McAdams wore a printed strapless LANVIN textured carnation gown. Beauty wise, she opted for a classic and red lip. FOREVERMARK jewelry completed her look.

Jennifer Jason Leigh style started off a bit shaky since her return to the carpet. However why this ROLAND MOURET bespoke dress doesn't excite, it's an improvement from her previous look.

Caitriona Balfe wore a black tulle & lace layered ALEXANDER MCQUEEN gown. However the dress underneath is giving me nightgown vibes.

Heidi Klum wore a silver beaded fringe feather MARCHESA FALL 2015 v-neck belted dress. which she accessorized with LORRAINE SCHWARTZ jewelry. I wish she kept the detailed belt from the runway version because it added an interesting detail to the dress without being distracting.

Uzo Aduba wore a TALBOT RUNHOF black sequin long dress with tulip sleeves. Uzo's look is on the dark side, I wish she did something to soften it up a bit. A sleeker hairstyle and colored lip would have been nice.

Amanda Peet was thinking the same thing as Rooney Mara as they both wore similar dresses from the ALEXANDER MCQUEEN SPRING 2016 collection.

Helen Mirren wore a black BADGLEY MISCHKA three-quarter sleeve sheer panel dress. I wish Helen opted for something in color like she usually does but this is not a bad look. A colored lip and silver accessories completed her look.

Felicity Huffman wore a ruby beaded & vine embroidered LORENA SARBU FALL 2014 dress. While I do like the dress, it's the matronly hair that doesn't work.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum's style is on the predictable side which is becoming a bit boring. She wore a ZUHAIR MURAD FALL 2015 COUTURE navy embellished belted halter gown.

Kirsten Dunst had some cleavage on display in this black VALENTINO FALL 2015 COUTURE velvet gown with a plunging neckline and train detail. However is look is lacking life.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus wore a strapless lace LANVIN dress. From the pictures her dress looks black but it seems to be styled with a navy waistband and clutch which I do not favor. Color or something was needed here but her look is boring & safe.

Regina King wore a KRIKOR JABOTIAN gold pailiettes center front split dress with a white pleated dress in the black. I wish she went for a sleeker hairstyle and a simple ankle strap gold sandal. However this dress is a tad costumy.

Calista Flockhart wore a teal & gold embellished ANDREW GN dress. For this to be Andrew Gn who makes great red carpet dresses, it's disappointing. It feels so matronly and I wish she went for a sleek up-do.

Katy Perry wore a pink PRADA dress. The only person who really mastered a Prada/MiuMiu look is Lea Seydoux. This is so underwhelming and the matronly hairstyle isn't helping.

Portia Doubleday wore a metallic beaded NAEEM KHAN SPRING 2016 v-neck gown. This collection had so many fun, youthful pieces so I am confused why she went this direction. I like the gown but not for her.

Kate Winslet wore a cobalt blue RALPH LAUREN silk panel halter dress with a side front split detail. I was very underwhelmed with Kate's look. I feeli like I have seen this a dozen times on her.

Amy Schumer wore a black & white panel PRABAL GURUNG off-the-shoulder gown. There is just too much fabric here and a pop of color was needed.

Laverne Cox wore a custom ELIZABETH KENNEDY white gown with a long dramatic train detail and a v back. This reminds me of the white Marc Bower gown she wore last year. Also I don't get the dark lip here. LORRAINE SCHWARTZ jewelry, a box clutch and pinned up-do finished up her look.

Lola Kirke ditched her heels when she posed in the press room wearing a one-shoulder MONIQUE LHUILLIER FALL 2015 side front split gown. The color doesn't work for her neither does her hairstyle.

  1. Emmy Rossum, Caitriona Balfe, Helen Mirren, Portia Doubleday and Kirsten Dunst are my favourite from the bunch. Maggie, Eva and Kate seriously disappointed me with their choices. They can do so much better.

  2. Amber Heard looks lovely in Gucci (although I wish she'd covered the harsh seam at the waist with a delicate belt).
What was Kate Hudson thinking - this is way too skin-baring for this formal event. Rachel McAdams - another disappointment, that cheap-looking mall print is a no.
Malin's Reem Acra with the unusual peplum is charming.
