Hail, Caesar! Premiere & Opening of the 66th Berlin Film Festival Wrap-up

Along with Tilda Swinton, The Clooney's, Alba Rohrwacher, Meryl Streep and Channing Tatum hit the red carpet at the Hail, Caesar! premiere & the 66th Berlin Film Festival opening night at the Berlinale Palace in Berlin, Germany.

Amal Clooney was on hand to support husband George wearing a Vintage 1981 YVES SAINT LAURENT from William Vintage. Her black sequin dress featured over 10,000 sequins along with a overskirt in a stiffened black silk tulle which featured a satin waistband for a cinched waist. I thought Amal looked beautiful here in this vintage number but the hair is very aging for me. A sleeker style would have been ideal. A red lip, diamond drop earrings and a black clutch completed her look.

George Clooney kept it low-key in a classic black two-piece satin lapel suit styled with a black tie, shirt and patent oxfords. The wrinkled pants are what's wrong here but the overall look is just okay.

Alba Rohrwacher wore a custom black long sleeve MIU MIU gown with a key hole opening in the front & back, a velvet bow tie waist and a train detail. It's mainly the matronly hair that hurts the presentation of her look and a colored lip would have been a nice addition.

Meryl Streep wore a long sleeve sheer snake embossed dress with black underlining. Beauty wise, she went with a complimentary up-do and a light pink lip. I wouldn't have mind a colored lip here either but this is not a bad look.

Channing Tatum wore a classic double breasted DOLCE & GABBANA tuxedo styled with a white button down shirt, a black bow tie and LOUIS LEEMAN shiny shoes. My only issue is the pants which needed to be hemmed.

  1. Alba is the most uncharismatic person I've ever seen on a red carpet . She resembles a mix of all the female psichotic characters from Woody Allen's movies. Her sense of dressing only reinforces that impression.
The vintage Saint Laurent is indeed very beautiful and regal.
    Maryl Streep, mmmmmmmmm, NO.

  2. Wow, striking (!) gown on Amal, perfect on her slim frame, she looks stunning and statuesque. She is the only one note-worthy here.

  3. I think this is a personal best for Amal.

  4. Meryl Streep's red carpet style is just so overall bad that when she wears something that is not horrible, I find myself wanting to applaud her. But that's all this is - not horrible.
