Wearable Art Gala

On Saturday(April 29th) the Wearable Art Gala took place at the California African American in LA which was hosted by founders Richard Lawson & Tina Knowles-Lawson. The event raised $1million and it benefitted The WACO Theater Center to help young people through their mentorship programs and the arts.

Richard Lawson looked great in his red & black sequin, satin lapel blazer with a black shirt & red printed scarf underneath, black trousers and black shiny shoes.

Tina Knowles-Lawson worked her frame in a custom strapless leaf gown tier gown which she co-designed with Timothy White. The gown is definitely different but for this occasion, it worked and she looked beautiful. The only thing I wish she did was wear her hair off-the-shoulder.

Beyonce showed off her baby bump in the STELLO 'Aurora' red long sleeve gown with a deep v-neckline and a train detail. To keep her look interesting, she wore a LETICIA M custom flower crown. She also accessorized with LORRAINE SCHWARTZ jewelry & brooches which were in the crown. Red suede platform sandals and a espresso smokey eye offset with a nude glossy lip finished up her look.

Michelle Williams has been having fun with fashion lately which you can peep via her instagram. She stepped out in the ESE AZENABOR 'Yana' sleeveless silver hand beaded peplum gown which she accessorized with sparkly jewelry and a box clutch. Both girls are carrying EMM KUO clutches.

Halle Bailey wore a rose gold pleated metallic dress which I think is cute but it seems to overwhelm her. Love the accessories and beauty look.

Chloe Bailey wore a coordinating silver metallic pleated v-neck mini dress styled with a coordinating clutch & sandals. I thought she looked great head to toe.

Bianca Lawson wore a strapless blue & silver gown with a ruffled, tier skirt. Side swept straight tresses and statement jewelry finished up her beautiful look.

Meagan Good wore a long sleeve green & navy paneled organza sheer illusion gown. Her gown was on tune for the occasion but looked a little too long on her.

Serayah wore a JENNY PACKHAM FALL 2016 pink ensemble which featured a feathered coat and a beaded & dot embroidered dress. KHIRY jewelry, a curly half up half down hairstyle and minimal make-up finished up her look great look.

Octavia Spencer kept it casual but cute in a black satin bomber jacket and a black layered tulle skirt. To be on tune with the theme, Octavia wore a flower piece in her hair by her hair/make-up stylist Val Noble.

Kelly Rowland was perhaps the most standout at the event wearing a lavender MONSOORI tulle gown with a plunging neckline, low armhole opening and a tier full skirt. Rocking newly dyed lavender hair, LORRAINE SCHWARTZ jewelry and BUSCEMI sneakers finished up her look.
