Yesterday evening(November 11th) in Beverley Hills, California, the premiere of Apple TV+'s 'Truth Be Told' took place at the AMPAS Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

Lizzy Caplan stepped out in the same CHLOE FALL 2019 'Majolica' long sleeve blue velvet dress with an asymmetrical hem that we saw first on Amanda Seyfried. Lizzy looked great in this dress but the CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN black pumps are a let down. Amanda's shoe choice gave her overall look a win.

91st Academy Awards Wrap-up

Tina Fey looked lovely wearing a custom VERA WANG deep sapphire blue strapless gown, featuring hand draped french tulle, with an arch shaped neckline and a dramatic watteau train. She dressed up her look with NIWAKA jeweler and a blue satin embellished clutch.

Kiki Layne who also attended the Spirit awards, delivered once again wearing a custom ATELIER VERSACE gown. Her pink gown which featured a dramatic cutout bow back, was accessorized with ATELIER SWAROVSKI jewelry.

Amy Adams also wore a custom ATELIER VERSACE gown. Her white strapless embellished was accessorized with a statement necklace. This a great look for Amy, not her best but still looks great.

71st EE BAFTA Film Awards Wrap-up

Gugu Mbatha-Raw looked simply beautiful wearing a Vintage CARDINALI black & silver beaded floor length dress. For the most part, Gugu is almost always wearing her natural curls but she opted for soft side parted straight tresses. EFFY studs, MELINDA MARIA & GRAZLIEA GEMS rings and minimal make-up finished up her look. 

Letitia Wright wore a black velvet embellished GUCCI floor length dress with a belted waist. I think she could have done without the belt but she does look lovely. 

Salma Hayek also wore GUCCI. Her black floor length, floral embellished v-neck dress was styled simply with a black velvet clutch. Center part curls and pink lips finished up her look.

Salma Hayek wore a green GUCCI floor length pleated dress with contrasting pink ribbon embellished straps and bow beaded waist sash. Salma looks pretty but this feels so familiar. A pink lip and center part curls finished up her look. 

Jessica Chastain wore a GIVENCHY black floor length dress which featured a see-through, long sleeve lace top, a mock & v-neckline and a center front split detail. I wish her beautiful, center front waves were off-the-shoulder but she still looks great in this all black look. PIAGET jewelry and LOUBOUTIN sandals finished up her look. 

Allison Janney looked simply beautiful in a LELA ROSE green off-the-shoulder gown which was accessorized with a box clutch, LETICIA LINTON jewelry and STUART WIETZMAN sandals.

Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji at 'The Shape of Water' 74th Venice Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Octavia Spencer made her way to the red carpet today(August 31st) in Venice, Italy for the photocall & premiere of 'The Shape of Water' during the 74th Venice International Film Festival. On both occasions, she wore TADASHI SHOJI of course. 

For the photocall, she wore a SPRING 2017 navy short sleeve lace dress which was layered with nude underlining for coverage. Octavia's dress was featured in white on the runway but the navy suits her. Although the dress looks a tad tight on the top, she looks lovely. Center part tresses and ankle strap sandals finished up her look. 

For the premiere, she wore a FALL 2017 burgundy off-the-shoulder lace embroidered & velvet panel peplum top with three-quarter sleeves and a burgundy pencil skirt. Octavia's top was featured as a dress on the runway but I think her presentation worked in her favor. Statement earrings, gold sandals, smokey eyes and a slice bun finished up her look.

Wearable Art Gala

On Saturday(April 29th) the Wearable Art Gala took place at the California African American in LA which was hosted by founders Richard Lawson & Tina Knowles-Lawson. The event raised $1million and it benefitted The WACO Theater Center to help young people through their mentorship programs and the arts.

Richard Lawson looked great in his red & black sequin, satin lapel blazer with a black shirt & red printed scarf underneath, black trousers and black shiny shoes. 

Tina Knowles-Lawson worked her frame in a custom strapless leaf gown tier gown which she co-designed with Timothy White. The gown is definitely different but for this occasion, it worked and she looked beautiful. The only thing I wish she did was wear her hair off-the-shoulder. 

Beyonce showed off her baby bump in the STELLO 'Aurora' red long sleeve gown with a deep v-neckline and a train detail. To keep her look interesting, she wore a LETICIA M custom flower crown. She also accessorized with LORRAINE SCHWARTZ jewelry & brooches which were in the crown. Red suede platform sandals and a espresso smokey eye offset with a nude glossy lip finished up her look.

Octavia Spencer looked pretty yesterday evening(April 4th) at the 'Gifted' premiere at the Pacific Theatres at The Grove in LA. 

Turning to her go to designer, she wore a TADASHI SHOJI FALL 2017 fuchsia & black floral silk-chiffon knee length dress with a lace embroidered v-neckline & waist and three-quarter sleeves. 

While I think she could have pulled off the runway version, her custom, inspired piece worked perfectly on her. She finished up her look with center part curls, a smoke eye offset with glossy lips, a black clutch and TAMARA MELLON 'Frontline' sandals.

Octavia Spencer in Marchesa at the 89th Academy Awards

Nominee and presenter Octavia Spencer attended the 89th Annual Academy Awards at the Hollywood & Highland Center this evening(February 26th) in LA.

I was surprised to hear Octavia say that she is wearing MARCHESA and not Tadashi Shoji. Her silver gown featured a pleated off-the-shoulder top and a feathered skirt. 

She dressed up her look with $1.2M worth of diamonds courtesy of FOREVERMARK. This gown is a different direction for Spencer and I thought she looked lovely. STUART WIETZMAN sandals, an off-the-shoulder hairstyle and smokey eyes finished up her look.

Michelle Williams wore a LOUIS VUITTON sleeve pink shift dress with a ruffled hem. This is a somewhat cute look but it doesn't excite. Gold metallic mule sandals finished up her look.

Emma Stone wore a sleeveless DIANE VON FURSTENBERG polka dot turtleneck dress. I like the dress but I think her JIMMY CHOO black ankle strap pumps were a safe but not so great choice.

Hailee Steinfeld wore a tiffany blue ELIE SAAB PRE-FALL 2017 mock neck mini dress with an embellished cut-out lace yoke and sheer chiffon long sleeve. GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI sandals and a ponytail finished up her leggy look.

2017 National Board of Review Gala Wrap-up

Yesterday evening(January 4th) the 2017 National Board of Review Gala took place at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York. To see all of the celeb looks, click HERE and continue below for the wrap-up. 

Octavia Spencer kept it simple in a black ensemble which featured a LAFAYETTE three-quarter sleeve key-hole peplum top and a TADASHI SHOJI skirt. I think a colored lip and/or statement accessories could have enhanced her look. NEIL RODGERS heels and a black clutch finished up her look.

Royalty Hightower posed with Quvenzhane Wallis on the carpet. Royalty won the 'Best Breakthrough Actress' award wearing a black & white beaded tulle layered gown. If she ditched the choker and opted for a simpler belt, this would have been a winning look. Quvenzhane wore a sleeveless black satin & velvet beaded dress with a peter pan collar. A black small tote & sandals, silver jewelry and a minimal beauty look topped off her great look. 

Riley Keough wore a black long sleeve DOLCE & GABBANA knee length dress which featured a sheer frayed corset top with contrasting burgundy beaded buttons & satin bows. I am not feeling this look at all and the black JIMMY CHOO pumps with such a sultry dress are a let down. 

Overall for the event, Naomie Harris was the best dressed. Do you agree?

Janelle Monae, Taraji P. Henson & Octavia Spencer at the 'Hidden Figures' NY Screening

On Saturday(December 10th) Janelle Monae, Taraji P. Henson and Octavia Spencer hit the red carpet at the screening of  'Hidden Figures' at the SVA Theater in New York. 

Janelle Monae, who also attended the Critics awards, wore a PRABAL GURUNG RESORT 2017 black & silver printed two-piece suit. Ditching the black shirt that the suit was shown with in the look book, Janelle opted for a black bra. Even though I wish the pants were hemmed, I still thought she looked great in this suit. 

Taraji P. Henson wore a red one long sleeve cut-out ALEXANDER WANG floor length dress. I like the color but this dress is just too long on Taraji. I mean seriously, her stylist could have had it hemmed. Also I am not feeling the hair or make-up. 

Octavia Spencer ditched her go to designer Tadashi Shoji for a ST. JOHN'S black three-quarter sleeve peplum dress styled with JIMMY CHOO sandals and L'DEZEN BY PAYAL SHAH jewelry. While her look doesn't excite, she looks pretty.

Arianna Grande wore a I.D. SARRIERI black lace crop top and ALEXANDER MCQUEEN white trousers. This is cute but I feel when it comes to style, Ariana hasn't hit the mark yet. A sparkly choker, RUTHIE DAVIS platform sandals, a sleek ponytail and a colored lip finished up her look. 

Teyana Taylor served up some serious cleavage wearing a STEVEN KHALIL black off-the-shoulder sheer lace gown. The top is very similar to her recent Soul Train awards dress. She has a great body no doubt but I am not feeling her style. 

Keke Palmer went for a 90's look courtesy of NATALIA FEDNER. Her 100% silver metal crop top & matching skirt was fully lined in copper metal and was teamed with a pink fur coat. I kinda see this look more for the VMA's.

Amy Adams wore a custom CAROLINA HERRERA one-shoulder white & gold dotted chiffon evening dress with a gold beaded strap & waist. I like this dress but I wish the gold beaded straps was removed. A sleek, center part ponytail, minimal make-up and gold jewelry finished up her look. 

Greta Gerwig served up some side boob action wearing a EMILIA WICKSTEAD textured gown accessorized with NEIL LANE jewelry and BRIAN ATWOOD heels. Love the color of this dress and she looks nice.
