Eiza Gonzalez, Gabrielle Union, Deepika Padukone, Ashley Graham, Diane Kruger and Hailee Steinfeld wore ATELIER PRABAL GURUNG to the 2018 MET Gala, Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination on Sunday(May 7th) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
Eiza Gonzalez was my favorite here wearing a onyx silk chiffon hand embroidered cross motif column gown which featured a cutout mako bandeau and a duchess satin alabaster extended giumpe satin train, rouleau covered button detail with the Tasaki Atelier white gold and South Sea pearl twisted Aurora choker with sapphire and diamond accent, and the Tasaki high jewellery diamond and tanzanite necklace. Her sultry, edgy look worked within the theme.
Gabrielle Union took on the theme through her vibrant yellow hue & details. Her Taroni double face duchess satin v-neck column gown featured a graphic racerback and removable hand draped cathedral train with satin covered button detail with the Tasaki high jewellery platinum and diamond ring, necklace, choker earring and hair corsage. Matching sandals and smokey eyes finished up her look.
Deepika Padukone wore a cardinal red silk crepe strapless gown which featured hand draped silk gazar sculptural shoulder bloom and side draped chapel train. Her gown was accessorized with Tasaki Atelier white gold, Sakura gold and Akoya pearl Nacreous earring with diamond accent, the Tasaki Atelier white gold, Sakura gold and Akoya pearl gathered double Nacreous ring with diamond accent and the Tasaki Atelier Sakura gold and Akoya pearl double Moulin ring with diamond accent.
Ashley Graham worked the split on her antique paz hand embroidered armoured sequin strapless column gown which featured a satin-edged wateau cape. She accessorized with Tasaki yellow gold Aurora ring with diamond accent and Akoya pearl, the Tasaki Atelier yellow gold ear cuff with pearl detail and the Tasaki Elegance yellow gold and South Sea pearl baroque earring with diamond accent. The gown in general is cute but the color doesn't work on Ashley and the fit looks off on the bust.
Diane Kruger was a beauty wearing a celestial blue double face duchess satin structured bell shaped dress with hand embroidered engineered fleur-de-lis motif, hand draped silk taffeta bouillonńe sleeve and monarch bouillonńe train with hand embroidered fleur-de-lis edge. She accessorized with Tasaki Atelier white gold and south sea pearl buoy hidden ear bud with pave diamond, the Tasaki Atelier white gold and Akoya and South Sea pearl Aurora ring with sapphire and diamond accent, the Tasaki platinum and Akoya pearl and diamond earring, the Tasaki white gold and Akoya pearl ring with diamond accent, the Tasaki white gold and Akoya pearl ring and a custom Philip Treacy x Tasaki fleur-de-lis and South Sea pearl head piece.
Hailee Steinfeld worked the split on her dove white silk crepe tank gown with silk gazar sculptural hand draped winged cascade train and hand embroidered pearl and diamante 3D thorn straps. She accessorized with Tasaki silver and pearl tiara, the Tasaki white gold and South Sea baroque pearl elegance necklace with diamond accent, the Tasaki Akoya pearl long necklace and the Tasaki white gold Aurora ring with diamond accent and Akoya pearl.
