2019 MET Gala Camp: Notes on Fashion Wrap-up

The 2019 MET Gala Camp: Notes on Fashion took place yesterday evening(May 6th) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. To see all of the celeb looks, click HERE and continue below for the wrap-up.

Gal Gadot was head to toe in GIVENCHY SPRING 2019 COUTURE white sleeveless lace embroidered, cape mini dress, black thigh-high lace boots, and a pearl embellished headband.

Danai Gurira rocked a custom masculine inspired look by GABRIELA HEARST which featured a black custom silk wool jumpsuit, with a plunging neckline and a train in the back. A black top hat, FRED LEIGHTON jewelry, a black cane and JIMMY CHOO sandals rounded out her look.

Michael B Jordan is the new brand ambassador for COACH, so naturally that's who made his winning look. His custom black single-breasted coat and matching trousers feature all-over Wild Beast embroidery composed of thousands of sequins.

Cardi B definitely took up a lot of space on the carpet wearing a THIOM BROWNE anatomical down-filled dress, layered in oxblood tulle and silk organza, with a three-meter long train. The shirred, gathered tulle fill, creates a shape that twists, waves, and gathers, with hand-embroidered bugle bead detailing, ruby nipples, and 30,000 burned and dyed coque feathers. Her dress took 35 people and over 2,000 hours to create.

Hailee Steinfeld made a fashion statement wearing a VIKTOR & ROLF SPRING 2019 COUTURE 'No Photos Please' ruffle tulle, tier layered gown. This was the perfect gown for Haille to wear, seeing as Anna Wintour has a 'no selfie' policy at the gala.

Rachel Brosnahan wore an ERDEM FALL 2019 fuchsia and red ruffle floral tier gown, which was adorned with black velvet bows on the bodice. On the runway the gown was shown in a calf length version but her gown was gala appropriate.

Miley Cyrus was head to toe in SAINT LAURENT FALL 2019, which featured a green & black sequin beaded mini dress, polka dot stockings and platform sandals.

Kerry Washington came through making a statement as well courtesy of TORY BURCH. Her ruffle tier organza gown was accessorized with rings that read 'Negativity is Noise'.

Halsey wore a custom PRABAL GURUNG cherry duchess satin conical bandeau paired with a cherry duchess satin drop waist sculptural skirt with silk taffeta extended hand draped bouillon train and TASAKI earrings. BROTHER VELLIES sandals, KHIRY jewelry and off-the-shoulder tresses finished up her look.

Nicki Minaj is also PRABAL GURUNG and BROTHER VELLIES sandals. Her rococo blush double face satin sculptural dress, was adorned with a hand embroidered chandelier crystal, and a hand draped silk taffeta bouillon train.

Irina Shayk wore a BURBERRY Bespoke midnight blue velvet gown, with statement-making draped sleeves and a crystal and chain pendant. Her gown was accessorized with a custom made clutch bag, gloves and sandals. The simplisitic beauty look was key into allowing the rich velvet gown to remain the focal point.

Hailey Bieber wore a custom ALEXANDER WANG long sleeve pink sequin gown, with an attached nameplate thong. This is not totally on theme but it is simple and sexy.

Lena Dunham wore a CHRISTOPHER KANE FALL 2019 pink 'Rubberist' satin dress, which was adorned with a bow in the back. I have to say, I actually prefer Lena's version over the runways, definitely one of her best looks.

Jemima Kirke also wore a custom dress from the CHRISTOPHER KANE FALL 2019 collection. It is actually the same dress as Lena's but in black and it reads 'Looner'.

Liza Koshy was definitely on theme wearing a SPRING 2019 COUTURE long sleeve beaded mini dress, with a structured pink and white houndstooth overlay. Who knew someone can make such an odd piece come to life. Her beauty look was flawless and the accessories coordinated nicely with her winning look.

Gemma Chan wore a TOM FORDcrystal embroidered evening gown and cape with a custom headdress inspired by Elizabeth Taylor. However it reminds me of the white cape & gown Gwyneth Paltrow wore at the Oscars which was also Tom Ford.

Kim Kardashian wore a wet look dress by Manfred Thierry Mugler, a creation based on archive pieces. This is nothing that we don't see on her on a daily basis.

Kanye West posted up next to Kim rocking a DICKIES black jacket and trousers.
