Last night(August 25th) Newark, New Jersey, the 2019 Black Girls Rock awards, which was hosted by Niecy Nash, took place at the NJPAC.
Angela Bassett worked a playful ALBERTA FERRETTI LIMITED EDITION FALL 2018 COUTURE beaded fringe jumpsuit. Because her jumpsuit has some shine to it, I think she should have gone with simple metallic sandals over the glittery platforms. Her beauty look was flawless as always.
Ciara sparkled beautifully in a ZUHAIR MURAD SPRING 2019 COUTURE silver beaded, sequin gown. On the runway, Cici's gown was shown with straps which she removed. I actually like the gown with the straps but it works without it. A complimentary beauty look, NORMAN SILVERMAN earrings & silver band and GRAZIELA GEMS rings rounded out her look.
Issa Rae wore a GRETA CONSTANTINE FALL 2018 green long sleeve, side split gown, with a mock neck. The sequin boots on the model really brings this basic gown to life. This is just okay for me but her beauty look is flawless.
Skai Jackson looked great wearing a PHILOSOPHY DI LORENZO SERAFINI RESORT 2020 printed strapless, crepe de chine mini dress. If I had to add anything here, it would be a necklace but she still looked great.
H.E.R. made a shiny entrance wearing a DAPPER DAN track suit, with an HELMUT LANG sheer organza top underneath. Her sporty chic ensemble was topped off with light blue round sunglasses, SOPHIA WEBSTER sandals and her signature curls.
Niecy Nash who hosted the show, could not be missed wearing a fuchsia satin suit, which was belted at the waist. She looked great but those pants needed to be hemmed.
