93rd Oscars Wrap-up

The red carpet made a big comeback yesterday evening(April 25th) for the 93rd Oscars which was held at Union Station in Los Angeles, CA. To see all of the celeb looks, click HERE and continue below for the wrap-up. 

Angela Bassett wore a custom ALBERTA FERRETTI custom red crepe off the shoulder gown with draped organza shoulders and a train in the back. Love the color and the over-sized shoulders & train adds drama. She looked beautiful as always. CHOPARD jewelry, a JUDITH LEIBER clutch and CASADEI sandals finished up her look. 

Andrea Day served up some leg action in a VERA WANG custom liquid gold metal mesh cut away gown with the designer's classic draping, asymmetric straps and a high slit skirt that plunges into a dramatic side train. I feel like this is more of a Grammy' type look, it's not working for this occasion. I wish she did something more dramatic but she looks amazing in this dress. A flawless beauty look and CASADEI sandals rounded out her look. 

Chloe Zhao walked away a winner wearing a HERMES FALL 2021 dress which she teamed with white sneakers. Throughout this awards season for her virtual appearances, she kept it comfortable in tee's and sweaters so her sneakers are no surprise. I wish that she kept the belt but this works for her. 

Halle Berry made her red carpet debut with boyfriend Van Hunt. She wore a custom DOLCE & GABBANA dress which was accessorized with RIDANO jewelry and CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN sandals. I am not really feeling the big bow on the waist but she sold this dress playfully on the carpet. However her hair was not a good move. 

Van Hunt suited up in ETRO, which was accessorized with DAVID YURMAN jewelry. A printed pocket square or velvet loafers could have enhanced this but they are such a beautiful couple.

Laura Dern presented in a playful OSCAR DE LA RENTA FALL 2020 black velvet and white feather gown, which was accessorized with POMELLATTO jewelry. Great choice but I wish that she switched up her hairstyle for something sleeker. 

Margot Robbie came sparkling in a CHANEL FALL 2019 COUTURE dress. I am glad that she left the crop jacket out but I feel like she needed more of a colored lip to give her overall look some life. 

Nicolette Robinson was on hand to support husband Leslie Odom Jr who was nominated & performed. She looked beautiful wearing a ZUHAIR MURAD PRE-FALL 2021 black slit detail gown. I do wish she added some sparkles but she still looked great. 

Nina Pedrad wore a red STELLA MCCARTNEY floor length dress. That sheer panel on the v-neckline is bugging me for some reason. Love the color but I am not crazy about the dress. 

Marlee Matlin came through sparkling, showing off her décolletage in a VIVIENNE WESTWOOD sequin off-the-shoulder dress with a slightly draped neckline and dramatic sleeves. Her dress was made for Red Carpet Green Dress in collaboration with Tencel.

Paris Jackson attended an Oscar party wearing a white MONIQUE LHUILLIER draped dress. The shoes are a no for me. She should have gown with a simpler, metallic pair. 

Cara Delevingne joined Paris and she looked great wearing a RONALD VAN DER KEMP SPRING 2021 COUTURE ensemble. 

Simone Leward Boseman was on hand for her late husband Chadwick Boseman who was nominated. Dang it was hard writing that because I still can't believe that he's gone. She looked beautiful wearing a custom ATELIER VERSACE dress, accessorized with BULGARI jewelry and CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN sandals.

Tiara Thomas wore a custom JOVANA LOUIS white feather panel jumpsuit and coordinating jumpsuit. I like this look, it's a combination sexy and edgy.

Trish Summerville wore a TONY WARD FALL 2021 silver beaded and black crepe panel dress. I don't like the gold earrings but the dress was a great choice. 

Viola Davis surprised me because I was hoping to see her in a bold print or vibrant color. Don't get me wrong, she looked beautiful in this white ALEXANDER MCQUEEN dress but the top and the skirt don't connect for me. I would have loved to see her with a bolder lip color but she is a beauty. 

Julius Tennon complimented his wife in a white and black tuxedo. 

Yuh Jung Youn wore a MARMAR HALIM brocade belted gown, accompanied by CHOPARD Haute Joaillerie, a ROGER VIVIER clutch and BOTTEGA VENETA heels. The position of the belt is driving me crazy because I just want to pull it down badly. It's not a dramatic look but it was the right look.

Zaria looked beautiful in a custom DOLCE & GABBANA dress which was accessorized with BULGARI jewelry and coordinating sandals. I feel like I have seen this design before but boy does she look gorgeous.

Jurnee Smollett attended an after-party and she slayed in a playful, sexy sheer feather embellished ELIE SAAB FALL 2020 dress which was accessorized with MESSIKA jewelry and ROGER VIVIER sandals.

Cynthia Erivo didn't attended the actual show as well but she was on hand for the Elton John Aids Foundation Viewing party. She rocked a MOSCHINO FALL 2021 flamingo one-shoulder mini dress. I know this is reminding everyone, including me of Bjork's swan dress from the 2001 Oscars but I like this more. It's ridiculously cute & fun and Cynthia's the right person to wear it.
