54th NAACP Image Awards

Yesterday evening(February 25th) the 54th NAACP Image Awards was held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California.

Zendaya looked beautiful wearing ATELIER VERSACE SPRING 2002 COUTURE. I love how simple the beauty look is because it allowed nothing to compete with her dress. However, I dislike the design of the top and I think a black ankle strap sandal would have been a better shoe choice. Having said that, I still thought it was a winning look. 

Janelle Monae gives us color every now & then and for this occasion, she gave us red. Her custom cutout piece is from the CONG TRI SPRING 2023 collection. She looked beautiful but I definitely wish some statement jewelry was added. 

Tracee Ellis Ross kept it classically chic in a BRANDON MAXWELL FALL 2023 black sleeveless, keyhole dress. The jewelry is what kept her look alive. CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN pumps finished up her look. 

Sheryl Lee Ralph looked so beautiful wearing a PISTIS GHANA gown which was accessorized with MISHO earrings and a NIKOS KOULIS ring.   

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union are always styling together and they both wore VERSACE. Dwyane rocked a black suit while Gabrielle dipped into the archives for this ATELIER VERSACE SPRING 1998 COUTURE piece. They both looked amazing. 

Quinta Brunson sparkled in a DUNDAS strapless ombré silver and gold fully embellished gown. The fit on the bust looks off but she looked gorgeous. 

Shannon Thornton utilized the split on her TONY WARD FALL 2022 COUTURE cutout, silk muslin dress. My only quibble is that it looks too tight on the bust and I am not sold on the cutouts. 

Viola Davis wore another purple dress, this time courtesy of CHRISTIAN DIOR. Her custom pleated halter dress was accessorized with DE BEERS jewelry and she looked beautiful as always. Love her curls. 

Angela Bassett rocked a custom GRETA CONSTANTINE cream jumpsuit with ruffle sleeves. This reminds of the custom Pamella Roland that she wore last week with the over-sized satin sleeve panels. On this occasion, I am not loving the sleeves but my goodness, this woman is so beautiful. 

Kerry Washington wore a custom FENDI SPRING 2023 COUTURE black strapless draped wrap dress with a crystal pavé side closure, and crystal bralette detail. I can't say that I am loving the design of the top but Kerry makes it look good. 

Janelle James wore a CHRISTIAN SIRIANO PRE-FALL 2023 black strapless, velvet gown and she looked amazing. 

Yara Shahidi made a beautiful return to the carpet wearing a GIAMBATTISTA VALLI SPRING 2017 COUTURE mini dress with a peplum hem and a draped train. Love this burgundy hue on her but I feel like this mini dress didn't need the flowing, cape train in the back.
