95th Academy Awards

Yesterday evening(March 12th) in LA, the 95th Annual Academy awards was held at Ovation Hollywood with comedian Jimmy Kimmel as the host.

Elizabeth Banks wore a custom two-tone off-the-shoulder gown by VIVIENNE WESTWOOD with POMELLATO jewelry and the gown is wearing her more than she is wearing it. It wasn't the right fit.

Angela Bassett looked stunning in a custom ultraviolet purple MOSCHINO organza, draped gown with an exaggerated bow neckline. What a perfect look for her big night. BULGARI jewelry finished up her look.

Monica Barbaro wore a tow-tone ELIE SAAB FALL 2021 COUTURE silk-chiffon gown which she accessorized with KWIAT & FRED LEIGHTON jewelry. It's dramatic and elegant but I'm not loving the neckline.

Cara Delevingne also wore a ELIE SAAB FALL 2021 COUTURE gown. She utilized the split & the side pockets on her red one-shoulder gown and she looked beautiful. BULGARI jewelry and STUART WEITZMAN sandals finished up her look.

Lauren Ridloff looked pretty in ELIE SAAB as well but her gold beaded, cutout dress is from the PRE-FALL 2022 collection.

Danai Gurira looked so beautiful wearing a black JASON WU COLLECTION FALL 2023 strapless gown. Love everything about this including her flawless beauty look.

Ashley Graham showed some skin in a custom ALBERTA FERRETTI FALL 2023 draped sheer black, crystal embroidered evening dress with a cutout bodice. If the waist wasn't cutout and this was lined, I would have loved this even more.

Malala Yousafzai
shined beautifully on the carper in a silver sequin, RALPH LAUREN hooded dress and FRED LEIGHTON jewelry.

Melissa McCarthy wore a custom CHRISTIAN SIRIANO satin and tulle gown. I love the color but the satin and tulle together is not working for me.

Lilly Singh
ditched wearing a dress or gown for a CHRISTIAN SIRIANO FALL 2023 masculine inspired look which featured a long jacket and wide-leg pants. I don't like the cami underneath but something is off about the color but the look suits her. The pants needed to be hemmed though.

Elizabeth Olsen returned to the carpet wearing a GIVENCHY FALL 2023 black sequin, draped dress with a beaded, sheer panel hem. I like the styling of this dress more on the model.

Sigourney Weaver wore a gold sequin GIVENCHY dress and either it doesn't photograph well or it's just not flattering on her. Also, I think a gold sandal over the black pointy toe pumps would have been better.

Michelle Yeoh wore a CHRISTIAN DIOR COUTURE white sleeveless, feathery gown that hit the bridal border. I don't why but I was expecting more from her and I wish that she left the watch out.

Winnie Harlow looked beautiful wearing a yellow GIORGIO ARMANI PRIVE SPRING 2005 COUTURE sleeveless gown with a contrasting black rose detail. ALEXANDRE BIRMAN sandals finished up her look.

Margot Robbie ditched wearing Chanel for a black sequin embellished, off-the-shoulder gown from the GIORGIO ARMANI PRIVE COUTURE collection. It's a simple but beautiful look.

Nicole Kidman worked the split on her GIORGIO ARMANI PRIVE COUTURE black sequin embellished dress. The detailed flower appliqué kept this from being a simple sequin dress. She looked gorgeous.

Fan Bingbing made a dramatic return to the carpet wearing a TONY WARD SPRING 2023 COUTURE silver beaded, belted dress with an emerald green, taffeta over-skirt. Oh how I missed her. So beautiful.

Zoe Saldana wore a FENDI SPRING 2023 COUTURE cream silk-pleated gown and ballet inspired pumps. She wears the color well but I don't like the design of the top in most of this collection including hers. CARTIER jewelry and a TYLER ELLIS clutch finished up her look.

Eva Longoria wore a ZUHAIR MURAD SPRING 2023 COUTURE graphic embellished gown with a plunging neckline.

Florence Pugh wore a VALENTINO SPRING 2023 COUTURE draped off-the-shoulder, puffy cape top and a black skort with pockets which she utilized. I actually like this more on Florence than I do the model. This look suits her but I wish that she didn't wear such heavy shoes.

Stephanie Hsu also wore a VALENTINO SPRING 2023 COUTURE look. She looked gorgeous in this pink strapless gown but I almost feel like she should have kept the gloves.

Ruth E. Carter wore a VALENTINO yellow strapless, satin dress with pink platform heels. I love the color but not the fabric or design. Her beauty look was flawless though.

Emily Blunt wore a white strapless VALENTINO dress with detachable sleeves and ALEXANDRE BIRMAN sandals. She looked pretty and I love the earrings but this is a bit boring.

Halle Berry looked beautiful in a sexy, TAMARA RALPH COUTURE white satin, draped halter gown with rose gold, metal flower accents. I don't like her shoe choice though. POMELLATO jewelry finished up her look.

Rooney Mara wore a bridal inspired white off-the-shoulder dress from the ALEXANDER MCQUEEN FALL 2008 collection. It's not my favorite look but it suits her which is why it works. FRED LEIGHTON jewelry finished up her look.

Jessica Chastain looked gorgeous wearing a GUCCI silver & black strapless gown with a short, split neckline. The top looks a bit tight on the bust but she still pulled it off.

Salma Hayek was in GUCCI as well. Her rust-orange sequin halter dress featured a fringe hem. The dress looks too tight on the bust.

Ana de Armas stepped out in a custom LOUIS VUITTON dress of course. She looked pretty but I feel like  she hasn't given us a wow moment.

Jennifer Connelly also wore LOUIS VUITTON of course, showing off her décolletage in a black cold-shoulder, embellished halter dress.

Cate Blanchett was also in a custom LOUIS VUITTON dress. I can't say that I like the draped top but this Cate seems to be working this tricky piece.

Ava DuVernay looked beautiful in an LOUIS VUITTON off-the-shoulder, silver sequin and black gown with opera gloves. Love everything about her look.

Deepika Padukone
was all smiles wearing custom LOUIS VUITTON as well. Her black strapless, velvet gown was accessorized with coordinating opera gloves and statement jewelry.

Kate Hudson sparkled in a custom RODARTE silver sequin gown with a detachable ruffle cold-shoulder detail.

Jessie Buckley was a gothic beauty in this RODARTE FALL 2023 sheer beaded dress. I feel like this needed to be lined and the hem shorten.

Tems utilized the split on her LEVER SPRING 2023 COUTURE white organza, one-shoulder gown. She looked gorgeous.

Rihanna
showed off her growing baby bump in a custom ALAIA FALL 2023 semi-sheer black leather panel dress. I know a lot of people will not like this but it's right up her style alley.

Kerry Condon also wore ATELIER VERSACE and she looked lovely in a yellow strapless, chiffon gown. It's not a wow moment but she doesn't look bad.

Ariana Debose also wore ATELIER VERSACE and her white jewel embellished dress featured a cutout neckline, a slit detail and a flowing train. While I don't think that she needed that chiffon train panel, she looked gorgeous.

Lady Gaga
wore a VERSACE FALL 2023 black sheer and satin panel, drop waist corset gown. Love this gown on her but I feel like the eyes are too dark. The red lip would have been enough.

Julia Louis Dreyfus utilized the pockets on her LANVIN RESORT 2023 black embellished halter dress with MALONE SOULIERS heels. The dress looks so much better on her than the model.

Jamie Lee Curtis
wore a nude embellished DOLCE & GABBANA dress and I dislike the corset detail. It should have been left out. Other than that, she looked pretty.

Halle Bailey channeled her inner princess by wearing a DOLCE & GABBANA mint strapless, tulle corset gown. She looked beautiful but I wish that we didn't see the corset lining on the bodice.

Alice Rohrwacher also wore a PRADA dress but her red pailliettes, belted dress is not flattering on her at all.

Hong Chau wore a pink sleeveless, PRADA satin dress with a contrasting black beaded train in the back. I can't say that I am loving the design but she does look beautiful.

Allison Williams
wore a GIAMBATTITSTA VALLI SPRING 2023 COUTURE mesh pink & silver floral embellished gown with a feather hem and a pink taffeta, tulle cape. Unlike the runway, Allison's gown was lined which I prefer but I don't like the feather hem. FRED LEIGHTON jewelry finished up her look.

Sandra Oh
also wore a GIAMBATTISTA VALLI SPRING 2023 COUTURE gown. However, I don't like her marigold draped, silk-chiffon gown on the model or her.

Sofia Carson of course wore GIAMBATTISTA VALLI. Her white COUTURE draped off-the-shoulder gown featured a twisted, cutout bodice. This is giving deja vu and I don't like the cutout detail but she looked beautiful nonetheless and I loved that necklace.

Chloe East looked lovely wearing a custom MONIQUE LHUILLER black strapless gown which was made from tercel fibers. Also, the back featured a cutout, bow detail and a flowing train. The KWIAT & FRED LEIGHTON jewelry definitely took this to the next level.

Mindy Kaling wore a white cutout, VERA WANG corset dress with detachable sleeves. I wish that the bodice wasn't a cutout and the detachable sleeves were gloves. Her beauty look was flawless though.

Janelle Monae wore a VERA WANG strapless two-tone, draped gown with REZA jewelry. It's a sexy look but I don't like the top half of the gown. Her beauty look is flawless though.

Michelle Williams
maybe wearing a bridal inspired gown but she looked beautiful wearing this CHANEL white beaded layered gown.

Vanessa Hudgens who is newly engaged, struck a pose in a Vintage CHANEL black & white strapless gown. It's a simple but beautiful look.

Andie MacDowell kept it simple in a SAINT LAURENT RESORT 2023  black asymmetrical neckline gown which was dressed up with POMELLATO jewelry.

Sarah Polley wore a SAINT LAURENT tuxedo and I like the addition of the red flower corsage for the pop of color.

Jenny Slate wore a black strapless THOM BROWNE beaded dress. She arrived wearing a matching cropped jacket which she removed on the carpet. I like this either way.

  1. Angela, Cara, Fan, Monica, Malala, Margot, Stephanie, Fan, Jessie, Sofia, Salma, Chloe and Jennifer were favourites here. Winnie's dress was gorgeous but not totally flattering on her. This is the best Ariana has looked, should have been this standard level last year. Loved Tems look on the carpet but her blocking the view of the person behind her inside was rude and off-putting.

  2. Florence looks Worst dressed of the year contender. Zoe's was very disappointing and blah - miss 2010 Zoe who wore that purple Givenchy Couture. Ashley looked tacky and try-hard. Halle Bailey looked better than her looks over past two years, especially compared to her awful outfit at last year's Oscars. Wasn't one of the best of the night though.
