''The Color Purple'' LA Premiere

On Wednesday(November 6th) the world premiere of ''The Color Purple'' was held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in LA. 

Fantasia Barrino has been serving up some great looks during this promo tour. She slayed once again, this time wearing a custom polka dot, floor length skirt suit by SERGIO HUDSON. 

Corey Hawkins wore a DOLCE & GABBANA grey suit and the black floor corsage kept it somewhat interesting. However the pants needed to be hemmed. 

Oprah Winfrey wore another DOLCE & GABBANA dress, this time in purple which is an ode to the film. Love the color on her and I thought that she looked great. 

Lupita Nyong'o also wore DOLCE & GABBANA. Her sheer black organza dress was layered with a bra & briefs underneath for coverage. I don't think this is a bad look but it's not her best. Also, the shoes were a snooze. 

Colman Domingo's style is always on point and this was no different. He looked great in a LOUIS VUITTON FALL 2023 suit which was accessorized with DAVID YURMAN jewelry and CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN boots. Also, I am glad that he didn't wear the runway hue because this burgundy looks amazing on him. 

Alicia Keys wore a IRIS VAN HERPEN SPRING 2023 COUTURE gown. There is a lot going on here and it doesn't work. Her beauty look is flawless though. 

Andra Day stepped out in a RAHUL MISHRA FALL 2023 COUTURE purple butterfly sequin jumpsuit. You know, this actually doesn't look bad on her. 

Angela Bassett looked amazing wearing a GAURAV GUPTA purple pleated, strapless gown. My only quibble is that I wish that her hair was pulled away from her face. 

Danielle Brooks utilized the split on her custom NICOLAS JEBRAN COUTURE dress. Other celebs need to take notes because this is how you wear silk with no wrinkles or creases. I just wish that she didn't have that piece draped over her head. 

Ariana DeBose suited up perfectly in a LAQUAN SMITH FALL 2023 black tuxedo. I am not a fan of the mesh pumps but that doesn't take away from how great she looked. 

Dominique Fishback also wore LAQUAN SMITH but her sexy, navy velvet dress came from the FALL 2021 collection. For me, I am not sold and the fit looks off. 

Brandee Evans looked beautiful wearing a sexy ALBINA DYLA red halter, cutout dress. We don't see her a lot on the carpet but when we do, she brings her style game. 

Chloe Bailey wore a CONG TRI FALL 2023 sheer black dress with nude underlining. This actually looked great on her but I wish the gloves were left out but they add a edgy touch that somehow works. 

Ciara had her baby bump on display wearing a GEORGES HOBEIKA FALL 2023 COUTURE white cape, shirt and trousers. I don't mind the white pumps on this occasion but the pants needed to be hemmed. 

Halle Bailey wore a custom OFF-WHITE red tier gown. I like the color but I feel like the top and bottom don't belong together. 

Amber Riley looked pretty wearing a AMBER RILEY dress and I like the addition of the black corset. 

H.E.R. worked the split on her PAMELLA ROLAND RESORT 2024 purple ombre, off-the-shoulder dress. She looked gorgeous. 

Niecy Nash came through sparkling in another piece by NADINE MERABI. I like this purple sequin jumpsuit but the pants needed to be hemmed. 

Phylicia Pearl Mpasi wore a two-tone CHRISTIAN SIRIANO FALL 2023 dress and this is the first dress by him that I really dislike. This was not a good look. 

Teyonah Parris wore a CHRISTIAN SIRIANO FALL 2022 black velvet, crystal embellished key-hole dress with a center front split. The mock neck & the key hole doesn't suit her on this occasion but generally speaking, she is gorgeous. 

Quinta Brunson looked gorgeous in a RASARIO burgundy velvet dress. LE VIAN jewelry and JIMMY CHOO sandals finished up her look. 

Storm Reid wore a sexy, TONY WARD SPRING 2024 one long sleeve, cutout dress. I think ankle strap sandals would have been a better shoe choice. 

Taraji P. Henson wore a custom VLORA MUSTAFA two-tone gown. She looked beautiful but I feel like the gown needed to be shorter at the hem. 

Demi Singleton wore an all black ensemble by MIU MIU. I like it but I wish the skirt was a bit more tailored.
