2024 Met Gala 'Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion' Wrap-up

On Monday(May 6th) the 2024 Met Gala celebrating ''Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion'' which was held in New York City and the who's who of fashion and Hollywood were on-hand. To see all of the celeb looks, click HERE and continue below for the wrap-up.

Zendaya changed into a second look, wearing a JOHN GALLIANO by GIVENCHY SPRING 1996 COUTURE gown. This look has a medieval vibe to it that is still in tune with the theme. I love her first look more, but this look still delivers.

Cardi B literally took up the entire carpet wearing custom WINDOWSEN with KAMYEN jewelry. She couldn't remember the designer's name, later adding that it was a ''complicated'' name. Her gown doesn't really speak to the theme, but it packs drama.

Colman Domingo always delivers and he served us with an exceptional custom look courtesy of WILLY CHAVARRIA. It was elegant and the cape gave it drama, which incorporated a flower to top off his look.

Lil Nas X re-emerged on the carpet wearing a custom look by LUAR. He marches to the beat of his own fashion drums and I am here for it. However, I have seen him do more dramatic looks than this but I still don't think it is a bad one.

Ashley Graham worked her frame in a custom LUDOVIC DE SAINT SERNIN FALL 2024 black sequin floral gown which was layered with a bodysuit for coverage. If you are getting deja vu, that's because Kylie Jenner wore the red version at the VF Oscars party. The issue that I have with her look is the hair & makeup because it doesn't compliment the tone of her look or the theme.

Chris Hemsworth and wife Elsa Pataky showed up wearing TOM FORD. If this would like a photocall or something, Chris look would have worked. Elsa added a floral gold crown to touch on theme.

Jeremy Pope wore a TANNER FLETCHER SPRING 2024 suit and it really wasn't on theme, but it still looked great.

The Wiz Cast also wore custom TANNER FLETCHER and they all looked great. Also, I feel like if the bows on Nichelle Lewis gown were flowers, it would have touched on the theme.

Demi Moore was surprisingly one of my favorites wearing this HARRIS REED gown. The details, and the print were so amazing here. She is a hit or miss, but she sold me with this one.

Lea Michele showed off her growing baby bump in a custom RODARTE gown with a tulle shawl. Love the color but not the quality.

Jennifer Lopez was also one of the co-chairs this year and she wore a custom Couture gown by SCHIAPARELLI. As a co-chair, you would think that she would go more with the theme, but she still looked great.

Sydney Sweeney wore a custom MIU MIU light blue floral embroidered gown. I honestly don't think the gloves were needed and that wig is giving Billie Eilish and not in a good way.

Cailee Spaeny was also in Miu Miu and she looked pretty. However, it's not a Met Gala serve.

Angel Reese took a break from the court and hit the carpet wearing a custom look by 16ARLINGTON. It's cute but not on theme.

Storm Reid wore custom COACH and if the jacket featured a floral design, it could have worked. But that bag should have never been there.

Nicki Minaj wore a custom MARNI which was super cute and fun. I think if the skirt was fuller and hit the floor, it would have given that extra dramatic, drama needed for this event.

Charli XCX wore a custom MARNI look as well which was made out of vintage tee shirts. It was on tune for the event, but it needed better styling and I wish that the bra cups weren't visible.

Taika Waititi and Rita Ora posed together wearing custom MARNI looks. Taika looked great, but it feels like he was going to a movie premiere or something. I'm not sure what's going on with Rita, but I am not a fan.

Eryah Badu is in her own fashion lane which is one of the reasons I love her. This COMMES DE GARCON SPRING 2024 piece was perfect for her and if anyone could have sold it for the occasion, it's her.

Teyana Taylor looked gorgeous wearing this THE BLONDS strapless gown. The color is amazing, but that hair, was a miss.

Taraji P Henson wore a custom SIMKHAI strapless gown and it worked for the occasion. However, I really hate the side nude corset panels and underlining.

Da'Vine Joy Randolph made her first appearance at the gala, wearing a custom GAP by ZAC POSEN blue denim gown with exaggerated sleeves. Some people said they hated the denim, but I liked it, especially with the hair.

Janelle Monae floated onto the carpet wearing a custom cutout, sheer embellished dress by VERA WANG with REZA jewelry. She looked so gorgeous, but I loved this more in movement.

Kendall Jenner channeled her inner Maleficent, wearing a vintage GIVENCHY COUTURE gown. I wish the sheer illusion panel on the waist was removed, but it was on theme.

Doja Cat wore a custom look by VETEMENTS and she is another one who does fashion her way. Her look is gimmicky, but once you know & understand the meaning behind it, you can see how it reaches the theme.

Lala worked a ALEXANDER MCQUEEN FALL 2023 black & red strapless mermaid gown which was layered with a lace top underneath. However, this has already been worn before on the carpet a few times. Also, I don't like the lace top.

Usher came looking like Zorro wearing custom ALEXANDER MCQUEEN. I like the sexy, cool vibe that he is selling, but those pants needed to be hemmed.

Lana Del Rey took on the theme perfectly by wearing a custom ALEXANDER MCQUEEN nude branch gown with a layered tulle veil. It's very artsy that it makes it fitting for the occasion.

Rebecca Hall wore a DANIELLE FRANKLE FALL 2024 light blue floral cape gown with a high-low hem rise. I kinda wish that she kept the floral headband, but I am on fence about the hair. However, I can see how it ties in.

Emily Ratajkowski wore a VERSACE FALL 2001 COUTURE silver beaded gown and it looks like something that we always see her in.

Sarah Jessica Parker chose a RICHARD QUINN SPRING 2024 nude beaded floral, tea length gown with the coordinating boots. SJP is one of the few celebs that takes the theme seriously, the bag feels so out of place with her look and the theme.

Nicole Kidman went the vintage route, wearing a BALENCIAGA SPRING 1951 white & black strapless gown. I actually prefer the original, but her ''reawakening'' approach was understood. I honestly think, instead of the gloves, she should have gone with a necklace.

Naomi Watts wore custom BALENCIAGA and I am assuming the puffy cape coat is an ode to sleeping beauty. It kinda works.

Serena Williams wore a custom BALENCIAGA gold metallic, one-shoulder gown and just don't think that she has that fashion factor. I don't get her look here.

Isabella Huppert was also in custom BALENCIAGA and the long train adds some drama. It's like the train reference the sleeping beauty, but I don't get the lace gloves.

Michelle Yeoh was disappointing in this custom BALENCIAGA silver metallic gown. It just looks like scrunched up aluminum foil and the watch wasn't needed.

Madelyn Cline wore a TOMMY HILFIGER shirt collar gown with floral accents. It's a bit tight on the bust.

Mona Patel was my favorite of the night in the IRIS VAN HERPEN custom gown. I just wish that her confidence showed more.

Lizzo wore a custom WEINSANTO COUTURE gown and I don't like the color on her or the head piece and the hem.

Allison Williams wore a u-neck black & white floral embroidered, MICHAEL KORS COLLECTION gown and she's pretty, but I dislike that u-neckline.

Shakira in custom CAROLINA HERRERA but it doesn't come close to the theme. This would be better on a different carpet like the Latin Grammy's.

Dove Cameron
chose a custom floral embroidered gown by DIESEL and it didn't come together nicely at all.

Kylie Minoque also wore a custom DIESEL. Her slip dress which was rendered in over 500,000 Swarovski crystals. I like the idea but it doesn't work for the occasion, nor with that red lip.

FKA TWIGS
wore a custom STELLA MCCARTNEY look it feels more like a performance piece. Also, I am not feeling the GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI sandals with.

Cara Delevingne is a brand ambassador for STELLA MCCARTNEY, so it is no surprised that she showed up in a custom look by the designer. But I feel like I have seen this before at the gala.

Gabrielle Union wore MARC JACOBS and Dwyane Wade wore VERSACE. They looked great no doubt, but it wasn't on theme.

Venus Williams wore a custom MARC JACOBS SPRING 2024 dress, but it's not dramatic enough for the occasion.

Dua Lipa wore a custom MARC JACOBS and it gave us nothing. It style has really been off lately.

Keke Palmer was also in custom MARC JACOBS and she perfectly nailed it. The falling bark and ponytail helped to make this look a serve.

Demi Lovato sparkled on the carpet wearing a custom PRABAL GURUNG sequin strapless gown with flower embellishments. It stands out, but it's super tight on the bust.

Simone Ashley just came in a regular custom dress by PRABAL GURUNG. It's boring and forgettable.

Maria Sharapova looked pretty wearing custom PRABAL GURUNG and the color seems to reference tennis.

Gayle Rankin wore a custom PRABAL GURUNG black strapless gown and it looks like she stopped by a bodega on the way to pick up some roses.

Jodie Turner Smith looked gorgeous in custom BURBERRY but that wig was really bad.

Naomi Campbell wore a playful sky blue fringe beaded dress by BURBERRY. She looked gorgeous but it wasn't on theme.

Lewis Hamilton showed up in an all black look courtesy of BURBERRY and the black embellished coat is the star. He loves fashion and you can tell.

Barry Keoghan wore a custom BURBERRY and he was perfectly on theme. Even though I wish this wasn't velvet, I loved the brown hue.

Mindy Kaling returned to the carpet in a dramatic, structural moment, wearing GAURAV GUPTA COUTURE and I loved it.

Hannah & Eddie Redmayne posed together in STEVE O SMITH FALL 2024 and I can't say that it suits him. Eddie has been definitely trying to elevate his style but I'm not sold.

Gigi Hadid showed off her décolletage a custom THOM BROWNE white off-the-shoulder, flower textured gown and she looked fantastic.

Rebecca Ferguson made a dramatic entrance courtesy of THOM BROWNE. This started as a cape at first, and I like the opening reveal.

Cynthia Erivo showed out and gave us a moment wearing THOM BROWNE. It's dramatic and beautiful and I love the green dragonflies because it adds a touch color.

Bruna Marquezine looked like an elegant beauty wearing a TORY BURCH gown with flower accents on the skirt. This is pretty, but still boring.

Uma Thurman wore custom TORY BURCH and this fits poorly on the bust. Love the color, but a rich pink lip would have worked.

Lily James wore custom ERDEM and the wrinkles on the fabric doesn't help her look. This feels more suited for a movie premiere. Very boring for the occasion.

Eiza Gonzalez wore custom DEL CORE, accessorized with CARTIER jewelry, a HUNTING SEASON clutch and JIMMY CHOO heels. The necklace is the problem here.

Raye wore a custom FENDI COUTURE look which was playful in design, but doesn't hit the theme.

Camila Mendes wore custom ALTUZARRA wore EFFY jewelry and I am not loving the color on her, and the design is pretty boring for the occasion.

Karlie Kloss, Imaan Hammam, Anok Yai looked so gorgeous wearing a custom crystal embellished catsuit by SWAROVSKI. However, Karlie was on the only one on theme.

Tyla wore a sand siren custom look by BALMAIN and what annoyed me most is the fact that she couldn't walk in it. However, I love the ''sand of time'' reference, this was her best fashion moment.

Elle Fanning stepped out in custom BALMAIN gown. The idea was perfect, and close-up, the gown looked like a mix of glass & plastic. I think the problem here is the makeup. It needed to compliment the tone of the gown and it doesn't.  I still like her look though.

Aya Nakamura wore a custom embellished, floral dress by BALMAIN and her breasts are screaming for freedom.

Alex Sharp wore a BALMAIN FALL 2024 tuxedo with DAIVID YURMAN jewelry. It was definitely an eye-catching look, but he should have definitely keep the tie. It's not really on theme though.

Jessica Biel wore a TAMARA RALPH SPRING 2024 COUTURE gown and this is the first gown by the designer that I don't like. The color is bad on her, the fits is off and it looks overwhelming on her.
