49th NAACP Image Awards Wrap-up

Kerry Washington wore a black MICHAEL KORS satin gown which she accessorized with ATELIER TASAKI x PRABAL GURUNG jewelry and GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI sandals. Minimal make-up and a frayed ponytail. 

Niecy Nash waist was snatched in a pink beaded MACDUGGAL floor length dress with a v-neckline, a cutout back and a thigh high split. KUKKA earrings, a JASON OF BEVERLY HILLS ring, MARCHESA sandals and a complimentary beauty look finished up her look.

Laverne Cox wore a ABYSS BY ABBY sheer sparkly dress with a v-neckline, a thigh high split and a bodysuit underneath for coverage. She looks great but we have seen this look a lot on the carpet. H. STERN jewelry, a L'AFSHAR clutch, STUART WEITZMAN sandals, red lips and center part light waves finished up her look.

Before she hit the stage for her performance, Andra Day posed on the red carpet at the 49th NAACP Image Awards at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium yesterday evening(January 15th) in Pasadena, CA.

She looked beautiful as always wearing a long sleeve multi-colored, graphic GIORGIO ARMANI FALL 2017 ankle length dress with a mock neckline and side pockets.  

Andrea's make-up is always flawless and last night was no exception. A pinned, wavy hairstyle, a GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI clutch and CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN sandals finished up her beautiful look.

She stepped out in a VIKA GAZINSKAYA SPRING 2018 light blue stripe gown with puffy short sleeves and a flare floor length skirt. Even though the color is off season, I do like this gown on Mandy. 

Also the fuchsia EDIE PARKER clutch added a nice pop of color balance to her look. A blue eye shadow which was offset with a nude lip and center part light waves finished up her look.

It's been a while since I have seen Danai Gurira on the red carpet but she returned yesterday evening(January 15th) for the 49th NAACP Image Awards at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, CA.

Turning to RODARTE, she wore the designer's SPRING 2018 white strapless ruffle leather dress with a faux crossover detail skirt and pearl embellishments. On the runway, the dress was adorned with a belt which she opted not to wear. 

However while she looks great without the belt, I kinda miss it for the detail it adds to the dress. A flawless beauty look, CHROME HEARTS jewelry and JIMMY CHOO sandals finished up her look. Are you missing the belt?

Working a see-through look, she wore a REEM ACRA FALL 2016 black & red strapless beaded sheer polka dot and lace gown with a long train detail. I feel like one wrong move of HB's gown, something maybe revealed.

Yara Shahidi has great style but she tends to wear pieces that overwhelms her frame. The actress attended the 49th NAACP Image Awards at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium yesterday evening(January 15th) in Pasadena, CA.

Working an all black look, she wore a VERA WANG SPRING 2018 gown which featured a collared neck, a sheer black yoke, ruffle straps, a bustier bodice, a draped peplum detail and a two tier skirt. 

In the look book the ruffle straps were shown on the shoulder but Yara opted to wear them down. This is a lovely gown but unfortunately she doesn't have the height for it. However she looks beautiful and I love her flawless beauty look. Do you think this gown works on Yara?

49th NAACP Image Awards Nominees Luncheon

On Friday(December 15th) the 49th NAACP Image Awards Nominees Luncheon took place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA.

Samira Wiley wore a floral ZIMMERMANN SPRING 2018 short sleeve v-neck dress with a pleated, ruffle hem. She offset her mini dress with grey PAUL ANDREW multi-strap pumps. A short layered cut and kohl rimmed eyes finished up her look.

Yvette Nicole Brown wore a long sleeve black & white floral BANANA REPUBLIC dress which she accessorized with a black cuff and black peep-toe ankle booties. A top knot and red lips finished up her look.

Marsai Martin wore the ALICE + OLIVIA 'Launa' black floral embroidered velvet mini dress with a lace trimmed hem which she layered with a white long sleeve ruffle shirt with a contrasting black satin neck tie. A curly ponytail and black suede MICHAEL KORS heels finished up her look.
