Italia Vogue goes Black!

Italia Vogue understands that their is a lack of ethnic faces in the fashion industry so they are trying to do something about it. They recently launched Vogue Black a site dedicated to promoting black models in the fashion industry. The site features topics about New Faces, The Black Blog, articles that feature Grace Jones & Tyra Banks, the model spotlight on Tolula Adeyemi who is the muse to Vivienne Westwood and the feature article "Love Your Natural Hair". I think this is a good start to get people to see how ethnic models have contributed a lot in the fashion industry over the years.

I went on the site and I have to say I am not disappointed, this could be the beginning of something. Could this change things for black models? Yes it could because the more spotlight we get the more opportunities can become available, hopefully. It won't happen overnight but it is definitely a step in the right direction. So hats off to Italia Vogue because even though they are across the pond they are still pushing for change. I guess it has to start somewhere but until we start to invoke that change here, we still have a long way to go. What do you think of "Vogue Black"?
