Max Mara Spring / Summer 2011

Max Mara spring / summer 2011 collection was not full of prints except for a few polka dot pieces but there was color every where. Canary yellow, nude, orange and violets were some of the hues that were used. The collection was simple, sleek and invoked a sensual style fitting for a fashionista ready to go on vacation. I loved the bright colors on top of each other because you probably wouldn't think to wear it together being that it is so bright however it worked.

Moschino Cheap & Chic Spring 2011....Smile!

Moschino Cheap and Chic looked like a bowl of bubbles and smiles. My favorite look is the girl wearing the yellow belted sweater that read "SMILE" with the black eyelet skirt. The collection looked like lots of fun, very girly and flirty. Love the bold prints and the flashy colors.

Versace Spring /Summer 2011 collection......A Cut above the Rest

Versace's spring / summer 2011 collection was sleek and sexy. Donatella brought back the infamous Greek border, which is a signature of the Versace brand. Cut-out detailing, splits and cropped tops and jackets brought out the edginess in the collection which draws you to it. However the prints made it pop. The shoes had a cut-out look that added the extra effect to the collection. The pairing of the cropped tops and jackets with the long fitted skits were my favorites. Looking at the collection seemed like to me Donatella also referenced the Versace archives and drew inspiration from it when she put this collection together. That is not a bad thing because that is what created the dedicated followers of the brand to this day. Continue to see more looks.

Dereon's fall 2010 ad campaign

Okay Beyonce is showing no signs of slowing down, with a rumored new single about to be release and now she scored a new licensed deal according to WWD. Beyonce and Tina Knowles "Beyond Productions LLC inked a deal with airbrush make-up company Temptu to design a limited edition collection of temporary tattoos that will be under the Dereon label. The House of Dereon and Dereon fall 2010 ad campaign received a lot of attention when it was first released. It was pin-up girl meets biker girl. Temptu created the body art for the Dereon ad campaign which had everyone talking about it. Smart move Beyonce and Tina.

The tattoos will make their debut on November 1st and will come in two packages, deluxe which will retail for $34 and the basic which will retail for $16. Fendi Spring / Summer 2011

Fendi's spring / summer 2011 collection was bright and beautiful. Lagerfeld opened with white then into royal blue, coral, green, and purple. Sleeves are over-sized with cut-out details. Blouses, dresses and jumpers also had cut-out details with a cinched waist. Bracelets were colorful along with bags that came in different sizes. The two-toned sunglasses added a bit of quirkiness to the collection that worked. This collection to me was about volume and movement.

Naeem Khan Spring / Summer 2011 collection

For spring / summer Naeem Khan delivered a lot of gowns that you will surely see on the red carpet come awards season. Robert Verdi, Hal Rubenstein and Mallock Rock all sat front at the show. Caftans, florals, bright colored gowns and beaded shoes and dresses were featured in the collection. The models also wore over-sized necklaces that were designed by Naeem's wife Ranjana. My favorite piece was the red and gold off-the-shoulder gown that Sessilee Lopez strutted down the runway in that received some cheers at the show. The collection was a fiesta of over-the-top embellishments and beautiful colors that worked.

General Idea Men and Women Spring / Summer 2011 collection

The designer for General Idea said the collection was about "Nostalgia". The designer played around with color like sky blue and accessorized it with belts and bags that were orange, lime  green and yellow. Cotton, linen polyester and tencel were the fabrics that were used for this collection. The title of the show was "Slow" and the models came down the runway in that manner. However it was a amazing collection to me. It was goth like with a little life to it. Continue to see more from the runway.....

Rebecca Moses Spring / Summer 2011 presentation

Rebecca Moses did a presentation for her spring / summer 2011 collection. Rebecca said " I love to tell a story...Fashion is such a colorful tale. I like to think of models as a character in a book". Models stood in front of big books that read the designers name, pictures that featured different places like Paris and one model was laying on top of a big book on the floor. The collection definitely took you on a journey into different places. The presentation was fun and a little animated which I liked. For her collection, Moses fused leopards, dots, florals and stripes that worked together to tell an amazing story. Dresses were long, short, flirty, ruched and tailored. From A-line skirts to slouchy pants, this collection delivered charm. Continue to see more of the collection....

Gottex Spring / Summer 2011

I know fall is here but after seeing the swimwear at the Gottex spring / summer 2011 fashion show, I can't wait until next year. If you are one of those fashionistas like me and sometimes go to the beach once in a while just to look cute then Gottex has the swimsuit for you. Lycra, foiled metal Lycra, Lucite, rock crystals and hammered titanium metals were used in the collection. Cut-outs and belts were some of the other detailing used on the swimsuits. The swimsuits were definitely fun, flirty, sexy and wearable in and out the water. Molly Grad said that "the collection celebrates women" and that "color played a key role in defining the silhouettes". Continue to see more from the collection......

Zang Toi Spring / Summer 2011

Zang Toi's spring / summer 2011 collection kicked off with a shirtless cowboy walking down the runway while Big&Rich's song "Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy" played in the background. That is my favorite song now by the way. The collection to me was a cowgirl meets a stepford housewife. The cowboy hats, slim pants paired with jackets and sweaters turned into floral 50's inspired skirts and dresses. My favorite piece was a belted blue wool suit ( shown above) with embellished detailing on one side of the jacket. Continue to see more of the collection............

G-Star Raw Spring / Summer 2011

Photos:Style.com

G-Star took over Pier 94 on the Hudson River with a show that wasn't as over-the-top as usual but they still delivered an amazing collection. Omarion, J Alexander, Mr. Jay, Kelly Osbourne, Kelly Rowland, Liv Tyler, Shontelle, Sean Garrett and Joe Manganiello all sat front row. Unfortunately Vanessa and Angela Simmons tried to crash front row but was not able to. However the clothes were the star of the show. One model wore a backpack that came a equipped with a flask, cords and straps were also used. The collection was classic and delivered sportswear that was functional. There was not a extravagant ending like always but it was still a good show.

Betsey Johnson Spring / Summer 2011 collection

"Le de Tour Betsey" is what the invitation read that was a map of the city because Betsey was inspired by cyclists. Ciara, Carmen Electra and Kelly Osbourne sat front row at the show. I love attending Betsey Johnson's show every season because you are guaranteed to have a good time. The music is always pumping and the models strut down the runway with lots of energy making you wish that you were walking with them. Models came down in singles and doubles. The clothes were fun, flirty, bright but still very girlie. One model came skateboarding down the runway but then fell because she was doing it in her stripper sandals. However she got back up with a fist pump in the air and everyone cheered and clapped for her.

Monique Lhuillier Spring / Summer 2011 collection

Monique Lhullier's spring and summer 2011 collection was flawless to me. The organza gowns were screaming for the red carpet with the hand painted magnolia's on them. The trousers were long and lean. My favorite trousers were the candy apple red ones that was paired with a belted one-shoulder white organza blouse. The collection was like a "secret garden" that all of sudden popped out and bloomed to perfection. I enjoy attending Monique's shows because she knows how to dress a lady and it is no wonder fashionistas flock to her for that perfect gown. Continue to see more from the collection....

Twinkle by Wenlan Spring / Summer 2011

Wenlan did a presentation of her Twinkle spring / summer 2011collection in a intimate setting at her Manhattan showroom during NY fashion week. The colors featured muted tones, vintage prints and patterns that were very modern. Wenlan to told me that she chose to do a intimate setting so "the focus can be more on the clothes". She also said that she wanted the collection to reflect a fairy tale and like the models were going to a destination. Pretty dreamy right?, because what fashionista doesn't like to travel looking stylish even if they are not going anywhere? Pants are slim, shorts micro, blouses very boxy and dress were cleanly cut. Continue to see more from the collection....

Malandrino by Catherine Malandrino Spring / Summer 2010

Catherine Malandrino showed her spring / summer 2010 collection in the courtyard of Lincoln Center across from Avery Fischer Hall. Models stood on top of platforms while fashionistas walked by looking and observing the collection. Can you say shoes? The black waved high sandal was my favorite shoe in the collection. Cracked and woven leathers was mixed with washed linen in soft tones. All of the silhouettes were light and loose. The straw hats gave the collection a southern feel but some of the pieces were Grecian inspired to me. Continue to see more of the collection..........
