Today we have a fashion battle between the 'Queen of Music' and Dior's newest face, so let the fashion war begin.
Beyonce received the 'Fashion Icon' award yesterday evening at the 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York. For the occasion, she wore a black & silver beaded GIVENCHY FALL 2015 COUTURE two-piece suit which she styled with her signature black wide brim hat, a black ruffled high neck lace top adorn with a diamond choker and black peep-toe platform pumps. LORRAINE SCHWARTZ jewelry topped off her look.
Bella Hadid wore the suit first just last month(May 17th) at De Grisogono Cannes party. Bella styled her suit with a silver beaded fringe top which was from the same collection, a silver metal necklace and GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI sandals.
So which one of these ladies won the fashion war?
On Beyonce I don't mind the hat, I actually think it adds a little drama to her look. However I wish the diamond choker/necklace was left out and the pants fit a little better at the hem. Also the LOUBOUTIN platform pumps are way to heavy for this this. On Bella, like I said before, there is a lot going here but she should have definitely left the necklace. With that said, I favor Bey. Who do you think won this fashion war?

ReplyDeleteThat said, it is one of her best looks as far as I can remember. Totally out of her style comfort zone although the mega hat is too Erykah Badu.
I don'T like the fringed top on Bella. It is too much. The necklace is ok.

Bella wins. She looks sexier and on-trend - the fringed top teamed with that necklace goes perfectly and her lighter sandals are much preferred. Beyonce's presentation is too heavy, stuffy and costumey.
ReplyDeleteBella just screams cool in this. Yes it's rather flashy and cleavage bearing, but she is owning it. Beyoncé says look at me, and it's not a bad look on her but also doesn't seem all that special.
