Last night(January 7th) the 75th Golden Globe Awards took place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA. Saoirse Ronan who walked away a winner, wore a ATELIER VERSACE black velvet one long sleeve gown with angular Swarovski silver crystal mesh accents, elegant draping detail at the neckline and subtle train. She finished up with CARTIER jewelry and a complimentary beauty look.
Mary J. Blige stepped out in a custom ALBERTA FERRETTI black velvet gown with a slit detail and a contrasting Swarovski net detail. My only quibble is that I wish she wore her hair in a low, side swept up-do. CHOPARD jewelry and a silver mirrored clutch.
Viola Davis wore a custom BRANDON MAXWELL black velvet gown which she accessorized with HARRY WINSTON jewelry and a TYLER ELLIS clutch. Loving her curly Afro which topped off her look.
Jessica Chastain wore a ARMANI PRIVE black velvet halter neck gown with a plunging back accented by silver and jet black crystal embroidery and an extensive train. Working elegant, soft side parted waves, she finished up with a colored lip and PIAGET jewelry.
Allison Janney wore a custom MARIO DICE gown which featured a white & black long sleeve cutout top and a black floor length skirt. I think this is one of her top red carpet looks ever. She looked amazing. LORRAINE SCHWARTZ jewelry, a L'AFSHAR clutch and STUART WEITZMAN heels finished up her look.
Nicole Kidman wore a custom GIVENCHY SPRING 2018 black beaded gown which was accessorized with FRED LEIGHTON jewelry. To compliment her detailed her bodice, she wore her hair in an up-do with tendrils which topped off her look along with a pink lip.
Alicia Vikander of course wore a custom dress by LOUIS VUITTON. Her semi-sheer black floor length beaded dress was layered for coverage and featured a mock neckline. A sleek center part hair do and minimal make-up finished up her look.
Yvonne Strahovski wore a black strapless KAUFMANFRANCO sequin gown with a train detail. She dressed up her look with BULGARI jewelry. Side parted tresses and pink lips finished up her look.
Claire Foy ditched wearing a dress for a two-piece STELLA MCCARTNEY suit. The pants definitely needed to be hemmed. Other than that, I like this.
Maggie Gyllenhaal sparkled in a MONSE strapless sequin dress which was layered with black ankle length trousers. JENNIFER FISHER jewelry, black pumps and a side parted, short waves finished up her look.

Diane Kruger wore a black dot embellished, cape detail PRADA gown with a crisscross, halter top and nude underlining for coverage. I rarely like Prada gowns but this I like. She finished up her elegant look with FRED LEIGHTON jewelry, a JUDITH LEIBER clutch and complimentary beauty look.
Margot Robbie wore a long sleeve black & silver floral embellished GUCCI dress with padded shoulders, a plunging neckline and a split detail. The detailing on the skirt feels a bit too overdone & busy but I like her beauty look.
Mariah Carey wore a black DOLCE & GABBANA mermaid gown with a crossover strap detail on the neckline. Mariah looks great but this is a signature look of hers which we have seen before. Nothing new.
Greta Gerwig wore a OSCAR DE LA RENTA black one-shoulder dress from the FALL 2017 collection. On the runway, Greta's gown was featured in a shorter version but her longer piece was on tune for the occasion. TIFFANY & CO jewelry and side parted short waves finished up her look.
Zoe Kravitz kept it simple in a SAINT LAURENT column dress with a back split detail. Adding a touch of color to her look, she accessorized with emerald stone LORRAINE SCHWARTZ jewelry which topped off her look.
Abbie Cornish sparkled in a custom MOSCHINO black sequin dress with a cutout, tie neck and bishop sleeves. An up-do with side parted bangs and minimal make-up finished up her look.
Sarah Jessica Parker wore a DOLCE & GABBANA dress which was accessorized with FRED LEIGHTON jewelry. I feel like I have seen SJP in a dress like this before.
Isabelle Huppert also made a sparkly entrance courtesy of CHLOE. Her black sequin dress featured structured, padded shoulders and a mock neckline. While I wish her hair was in an up-do, she looked beautiful nonetheless.
Millie Bobby Brown looked adorable wearing this CALVIN KLEIN ruffle dress with a v-neck back. Loved her look head to toe.
Naomi Campbell wore a JEAN PAUL GAULTIER black pleated one-shoulder gown with a train detail. Her signature beauty look and black pumps finished up her look.
Salma Hayek worked her frame in a BALENCIAGA black long sleeve dress with a pleated skirt. A sparkly necklace, the TYLER ELLIS 'Lily' clutch and side parted waves finished up her look.
Gwendoline Christie wore a black sleeveless GILES tulle embroidered, ruffle gown. Instead of wearing sandals, she opted for black pumps. Minimal make-up and a short, side parted wavy cut finished up her look.
Christina Hendricks wore a custom CHRISTIAN SIRIANO velvet & crepe dress with trousers. I like the draped neckline on Christina and this custom piece fits her nicely.
Penelope Cruz wore a black off-the-shoulder beaded lace RALPH & RUSSO gown with a dramatic satin side cape detail. Side parted tresses and smokey eyes finished up her elegant statement look.
Elisabeth Moss wore a CHRISTIAN DIOR tea length dress which featured an embellished collar and three-quarter sleeves. FOREVERMARK jewelry, a ROGER VIVIER clutch, CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN pumps and pink lips finished up her look.
Angelina Jolie who made a rare appearance, wore ATELIER VERSACE of course. Her black gown featured a strapless neckline and a sheer overlay with a feathered cape accent & ruched detail at the waist. This borders the lingerie trend but it suits her style.
Jamie Chung wore a ERMANNO SCERVINO black strapless leather & lace layered dress with a belted waist. A red lip and straight off-the-shoulder tresses complimented her look.
Reese Witherspoon wore a black one-shoulder ZAC POSEN mermaid gown with a fold detail neckline and a train detail. BULGARI jewelry, JIMMY CHOO heels and straight off-the-shoulder tresses finished up her look.
