2018 CFDA Fashion Awards Wrap-up

Yesterday evening(June 4th) the 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards took place at the Brooklyn Museum in New York. To see all of the celeb looks, click HERE and continue below for the wrap-up.

Tracee Ellis Ross wore a strapless CAROLINE HERRERA by WES GORDON dress which featured a black bandeau top and a pink ruffle tier skirt. I like the idea of this dress but I don't think it suits her style and the fit on the bust is a little off. But I do love her minimalistic beauty look.

Issa Rae who was on hand as the host, sparkled in a blue PYER MOSS one-shoulder sequin layered jumpsuit with belted waist and a side train detail. The color of this playful piece looked amazing on Issa which was topped off with a flawless beauty look.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley showed off her midriff wearing a ALTUZARRA RESORT 2019 black one long sleeve cutout jacket and black & white contrasting lace panel trousers. The pants could have been hemmed but I am over-looking that because she owned this look.

Busy Philipps was on hand as a presenter wearing a CHRISTIAN SIRIANO FALL 2018 sea green metallic two-piece suit which featured wide-leg trousers. I will never understand the deal with the un-hemmed trousers trend but other than that, I think this was a great look for Busy. A half-up, half-down hairstyle, a green clutch STELLA LUNA pumps finished up her look.

Cynthia Erivo showed some leg wearing a LELA ROSE ensemble which featured a white puffy sleeve shirt and a plaid one-shoulder mini dress. I actually like this look on Cynthia. The sheer black ankle socks &NICHOLAS KIRKWOOD pumps and dark round sunglasses added a cool, chic vibe while the dark lip gave her a vampy finish.

Olivia Culpo could not be missed wearing this vibrant yellow REBECCA MINKOFF maxi dress with frayed edges and a pleated hem. To give a look a touch of balance, you added a pink lip to her beauty look which was very necessary.

Rosario Dawson wore a black strapless STUDIO ONE EIGHTY NINE satin dress with draped sleeve straps and pleated skirt. My only issue is the but fit of the bodice which looks very unflattering. She dressed up her look with a white clutch and jewelry courtesy of FOREVERMARK.

Madeline Brewer always brings her style game as she looked simply lovely TANYA TAYLOR v-neck dress which was adorned with pailettes and featured a v-neckline & a center front split. IRENE NEUWIRTH jewelry, GIANVITO ROSSI pumps and a complimentary beauty look finished up her look.

Chanel Iman worked her growing baby bump, simply but beautiful in a custom NICOLE MILLER black dress which featured a lace-up bodice and split detail. Straight tresses, statement jewelry and black ankle strap finished up her look.

Claire Danes also showed off her growing baby bump wearing a NARCISO RODRIGUEZ black one-shoulder leather dress with an asymmetrical hem. Keeping the styling simple, she finished up with an up-do, smokey eyes and black sandals.

Julianna Marguiles also wore NARCISO RODRIGUEZ. Her white sleeveless sequin dress was teamed with a white satin clutch and white tie around sandals. Minimal make-up and a up-do finished up her look.

Nina Dobrev high-low hem lines are a big trend on the carpet and it is something that ZAC POSEN does very well which is who she is wearing. I would have loved to see Nina with a pink lip color here but she still looks lovely for the occasion. An EDIE PARKER clutch, SIDNEY GARBER jewelry and ankle strap sandals finished up her look.

Karlie Kloss worked the split on her JASON WU white halter dress which also featured a satin waist band and crossover skirt. The black sandals were a safe, predictable choice but she still looks nice.

Joan Smalls served up a little under boob action wearing a BRANDON MAXWELL white short sleeve crop top and a fuchsia ball gown skirt with side pockets which she utilized. DAVID YURMAN jewelry and a flawless beauty look finished up her look.

Lais Riberio wore head to toe CUSHNIE ET OCHS which featured the RESORT 2019 'Wisteria' blue lapis pencil dress with a band on the arm and the SPRING 2018 'Felix' ankle strap sandals. She finished up with a flawless but simple look beauty look and a black & white graphic clutch.

Kim Kardashian who won the 'Influencer Award' wore a RICK OWENS white sleeveless crop top with a draped, open-back and the matching maxi skirt. Kim doesn't look bad at all but this look is nothing different from her everyday look.

Kourtney Kardashian also wore CHRISTIAN SIRIANO. Her FALL 2018 black & crystal embellished suit which accessorized with silver jewelry. I actually thought Kourtney looked great but those pants needed to be hemmed.

Whoopi Goldberg has her own style that she loves whether anyone else does and I love it. She always does the unexpected so this CHRISTIAN SIRIANO vibrant number is no surprise. I do find her look to have some fit issues but she really enjoyed her look.
