27th Critics' Choice Awards

On Sunday(March 13th) the 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards took place at the Fairmont Century Plaza in LA with celebs in full force on the red carpet. However since some of the nominees couldn't make it to LA because they attended the BAFTA's in London earlier in the day, a red carpet for this event was set up over there. 

Issa Rae looked so beautiful wearing this red floral CAROLINA HERRERA PRE-FALL 2022 ruffle, halter dress. I think her hair should have been in a simple up-do though. 

Elle Fanning sparkled beautifully a gold strapless, tea length dress by OSCAR DE LA RENTA. The red lip was needed to avoid the color from washing her out. She definitely nailed it. Credit Samantha McMillen.

Demi Singleton wore a custom black beaded MIU MIU dress with a contrasting pink waist sash. The pink sash looks really bad wrapped around the belt. BEA BONGIASCA rings finished up her look. Credit Jason Bolden.

Rita Moreno wore a GRETA CONTANTINE SPRING 2022 gown that has a lot going but somehow it suits her. However I feel like she could have left the gloves out and this feels more suited for someone on the taller side. It should have been shorten for her. 

Chrissy Metz also wore a dress from the GRETA CONSTANTINE SPRING 2022 collection. The center front split was removed from her dress but the top looks very ill-fitting and I feel like an inch or tow needs to be removed from the hem.

MJ Rodriguez has been slaying the shaved head look and I am here for it. She looked beautiful wearing a VALENTINO SPRING 2022 COUTURE two-tone, one-shoulder jumpsuit. However I think the pants needed to be tailored better. 

Kathryn Newton wore a red VALENTINO v-neck gown with pockets which she utilized. She looked beautiful but I feel like I hav already seen her in something like this before. 

Jodie Turner-Smith wore a GUCCI ruffle, satin dress and this blue looks fantastic on her. Yes the dress has a lot going on with the design but she she is selling it. However I don't like the hair.

Jared Leto wore a GUCCI PRE-FALL 2022 three-piece suit that he already wore in different colors. His looks are becoming to repetative and the silver shoes don't go. 

Zooey Deutch always rides the color train and she looked so gorgeous in this ALEXANDER MCQUEEN polyfaille corset dress. I would have loved to see her wearing a necklace but clearly she didn't need one to pull it off. Credit Elizabeth Stewart.

Caitlin Thompson posed beautifully in a green strapless dress from the JASON WU COLLECTION FALL 2022. I am happy that the shape of the bow didn't change it really makes a difference. Love this green hue. Credit Samantha McMillen. 

Saniyya Sidney has been on a role for her first awards season run. She looked pretty wearing a RODARTE SPRING 2020 dress accessorized with MESSIKA jewelry and JIMMY CHOO sandals. Credit Alexandra Mandlekorn. 

Aunjanue Ellis wore a custom DOLCE & GABBANA sequin gown and she looked great. However I feel like the top part has a lot going on but it's the sleeves that need to go for me.

Marlee Matlin really pretty wearing a DOLCE & GABBANA cobalt blue, silk-chiffon dress. 

Kristen Stewart sparkled in a sequin DOLCE & GABBANA dress but I am not feeling the color on her. However I think this is one of her best looks but I dislike that we can see whatever undergarment she is wearing. 

Halle Berry seemed to be channeling her former storm character with the grey hair, rocking a DOLCE & GABBANA suit but her look in general is a no for me. 

HoYeon-Jung wore a LOUIS VUITTON SPRING 2022 gold structured dress and I think that if she removed the hardware from under the skirt, this would have had different results. 

Peyton List made a rare appearance wearing a YANINA FALL 2021 COUTURE black velvet embellished dress. I am glad that she left lace collar out but I dislike the sleeves and the peek-a-boo lace bra. 

Thuso Mbedu looked beautiful wearing a CHRISTIAN DIOR FALL 2020 COUTURE beaded, layered gown with draped shoulder panels. 

Amber Ruffin wore a strapless JEAN-LOUIS SABAJI feather, crepe jumpsuit which we saw first on Rita Ora in November 2021. Nonetheless, she still looked great. DAVID YURMAN jewelry finished up her look. 

Apryl Jones jones boyfriend Taye Diggs who was tapped as the hots. Apryl also wore a feather JEAN LOUIS-SABAJI piece and I am glad that she slightly changed it from the look book version. Taye looked sharp in a GIORGIO ARMANI suit.

Jean Smart also chose a look from VALENTINO and I am glad that she ditched the opera gloves from SPRING 2022 COUTURE gown. The pieces don't neccessrily look great together but the look suits her and the accessories chosen worked perfectly to compliment her look. 

Margaret Qualley wore a CHANEL SPRING 2022 COUTURE cocktail dress. This would have looked great without that black satin sash on the waist and those matronly shoes. 

Hailie Sahar was head to toe in RICK OWENS SPRING 2022. I feel like this would work better on the Grammy, MTV or Bet red carpet. But it suits her.

Mandy Moore wore a ELIE SAAB SPRING 2022 COUTURE white beaded dress that hit the bridal border but I am not feeling the wide neckline and pinned up-do would have been better. 

Chiara Aurelia wore a MONIQUE LUHILLIER SPRING 2019 dotted tulle dress and the addition of the red flower pin worked in her favor. 

Sophie Nélisse looked pretty in a pale blue strapless chiffon gown with draped bodice and cape from the MONIQUE LHUILLIER FALL 2022 collection. 

Juliette Lewis utilized the pockets on her ALBERTA FERRETTI PRE-FALL 2022 red silk taffeta, strapless gown with a bow. It's not a bad look, it just needed to be hemmed an inch or two. 

Indya Moore stepped out in a ombre OFF-WHITE FALL 2022 sequin dress, accessorized with a TYLER ELLIS clutch. I am surprised that she didn't wear LV because that was her go to before the pandemic. She looked great either way.

Jada Pinkett Smith wore a MAISON RABIH KAYROUZ FALL 2022 gold strapless dress which Ariana Debose wore in silver at the Bafta reception earlier in the day. However I think Jada wore it much better. 

Kristen Wiig took a risk with this see-through RODARTE SPRING 2022 black ruffle lace dress. I think if it was fully lined, the outcome would have been better. 

Kirsten Dunst wore a JULIE DE LIBRAN SPRING 2022 COUTURE dress and jewelry and I actually like this for her. It really suits her. 

Maggie Gyllenhaal wore a CHLOE SPRING 2022 one shoulder and I am glad that her version was longer but the top looks too tight. 

Kathryn Hahn wore CHRISTIAN DIOR and from all the runway choices, I can't believe that she chose this. It not the design, it's more so the fabric. 

Sarah Jones wore two-tone strapless gown by ACT NO. 1. There is something a bit dark but still sexy & glam about this look that is working. I just wish there wasn't draping on one-side.  

Angelica Ross worked the split on her VALDRIN SAHITI strapless dress and she looked good.

Maria Bakalova wore a black sequin, cutout dress by BALMAIN and it's not giving what it was supposed to give. 

Selena Gomez was simply, elegant wearing a red halter with a draped panel in the back, that flowed into a train. This was a custom LOUIS VUITTON cape gown that I am onboard with. Her best look in a long time. 

Hannah Einbinder never fails when it comes to wearing a suit. She looked great in this tuxedo by GIORGIO ARMANI. 

Venus Williams wore custom ATELIER VERSACE look and the design is very similar to the D&G look from the SAG awards. However the outcome with this is much better. 

Serena Williams also turned to ATELIER VERSACE and she looked great but I wish the pleated skirt panel was left off. This is on-brand for her though.

Kaitlyn Dever loving the red hue of her silk MIU MIU halter dress and she looked pretty. 

Jasmine Savoy wore a pink strapless,  pleated PRADA dress which she accessorized with a pink velvet clutch. She vamped up her look with a dark, red lip. 

Amy Forysth wore a CAROLINA HERRERA FALL 2021 black & pink layered tulle, strapless gown and she looked lovely. 

Courtney Eaton wore a CHRISTOPHER KANE FALL 2019 dress that we already saw on Nicole Kidman and Moses Ingram. The black accessories are not working for me. I feel like silver would have been ideal.
