68th Annual Director's Guild Awards Wrap-up

On Saturday(February 6th) the 68th Annual Director's Guild of America Awards took place at  Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in LA.

Stana Katic wore a ROKSANDA sleeveless black column dress with a contrasting cobalt blue & neon pink ruffled neckline. Instead of going with a simple sandal, Stana opted for pointy toe pumps. A black clutch and a high bun completed her look.

Regina King rocked a white plunging neckline halter jumpsuit accessorized with DENA KEMP drop earrings and nude strappy sandals. A plunging neckline can be hard to pull off and for me it doesn't work here for. However I love her braided side swept hair do and bold magenta pout.

Angela Bassett wore a CHRISTIAN SIRIANO SPRING 2016 black short sleeve long dress with a cut-out lace high neck top. While I am not too crazy about the top part of the dress, she looks beautiful. Statement jewelry, a slick up-do and a smokey eye completed her look.

Amanda Peet wore a black & white embellished peplum top with a deep scoop neckline and black wide leg trousers. A pop of color came via her bold red lip. A pinned up-do and a black clutch completed her look.

Mena Suvari wore a peach cap sleeve BIBHU MOHAPATRA SPRING 2015 satin dress with contrasting orange beaded flowers and a pleated chiffon panel. I am not to crazy about the look of the dress on Mena and the hair doesn't compliment it.

Jennifer Jason Leigh wore a semi-sheer black long sleeve dress with with white contrasting pipping and ruffle panels. I am not a fan of the dress and the hair & shoes doesn't help.

Blanca Blanco wore a GREGORIO SANCHEZ dress which featured a short sleeve turtleneck top and a printed high split skirt. I like the idea of a colored belt here but the style doesn't work with this dress. A simpler style would have been ideal.

Abigail Beslin also wore a CHRISTIAN SIRIANO dress. Her PRE-FALL 2016 long sleeve silver v-neck dress featured a hi lo hem. For me, the dress looks a bit too tight around the bust and a ankle strap sandal would have been ideal over her JEROME C ROUSSEAU heels. Also the clutch is too heavy.

Chelsea Kane wore a THAI NGUYEN ATELIER cap sleeve nude beaded knee length dress. The accessories don't compliment her look and a nice colored lip would have been better for a complimentary pop.

  1. No one really. I guess it's a win (although not particularly exciting) for Rachel McAdams at this event.

  2. Fashion wise it was a lack lustre event.
    Chelsea looks unfinished.
Abigail's dress is one of the most hideous I have seen in a long time.
Angela Basset is the most beautiful, not because the dress. But THAT face, ohmygod...
